POV: Sam

The next morning we're having breakfast and I noticed Kelly is unusually quiet.
She always makes a comment about my pancakes, but this morning I got nothing except a thank you when I gave her a plate. I have royally fucked up. I was frustrated, scared, angry, very turned on and I was processing all those feelings in real-time. She got caught in the crossfire as I snapped at her.

She looked so hot when I arrived and I couldn't tear my eyes away. She must have felt like I was rejecting her and that's absolutely my fault for not getting myself together before going to her.

I stood up and kneeled in front of her and took her hand.
"What are you doing?" She asked with alarm.

"I want to apologize again for my behaviour last night. I was processing a lot of information and I know it's a silly, unacceptable excuse for the way that I treated you. I'm so sorry baby."

"Thank you." She said and smiles.

"I want to make it up to you. Will you let me?" I asked her nervously and she nodded.

"Okay. I'll come pick you up at 6pm?"

"6 sounds good." I kissed her hands and got up so I can get ready for work.

Kelly walked me to the door but said nothing besides a soft 'bye' with a wave.

I got to work and made my way to the holding cells to finish a conversation that started yesterday.

"Special agent. You're back." He is in a good mood for someone in federal custody.

"I am. I was hoping to ask you a few more questions."

"No food? Some water?" He scoffed.

"I'll get them to give you food. Now as I was saying..."

"You know they won't do that. You need to personally bring me food."

I agreed to bring him food and he becomes more receptive to answering my questions.

"Why don't we start with your name?" I started and he chuckled.

"That's a very expensive question. Why don't we start small, within a reasonable budget?"

A budget? What in the entire world is this guy's deal?

"Okay. How do you know Ramirez?"

He smiled and shook his head.
"Why don't you just ask the question that is burning you?"

He's right. There's only one burning question I have for him but maybe I am not ready for the answer.

"Come on special agent, you know what you want to ask me." He presses.

"Is she in danger?" I asked and he laughed which surprised me because I am very serious in this moment.

"I'm sorry. How rude of me. To answer your question, no she's not in danger." He finally answered.

I breathed a sigh of relief.

"Although, if your little friend Jackson keeps poking, she will definitely be in an uncomfortable position."

"What does that mean?" I asked him.

"It means thank you for coming to my ted talk, when is my food arriving?"

"I'm on it." I said and left.

I got him his lunch but we couldn't continue our conversation.
He was being questioned and I didn't want to push to get in. Jackson made it clear he wants to take the lead.

I stayed at my desk the remainder of the day trying to piece things together. Who is this guy? Kelly said he is Ramirez's cousin but he is not confirming it. Also how would she know without even seeing who I'm talking about, but I guess if she's good at what she does then she doesn't need a photo.
