POV: Kelly
I sat in disbelief in the doctor's office after she told me I was pregnant.
I had a suspicion and I honestly shouldn't be too surprised. It's just that Sam and I are in the middle of a fight right now and this may be the news we need to start talking nicely to each other again.
"Are you okay?" Doctor Joy asked and I nodded slowly. "Okay. We need to slot in some appointments for tests to make sure all is well with baby. Get some rest and take care of yourself." She added and I nodded before we said goodbye. I was still speechless.
Sheila was waiting outside with Oliver. We went to do some shopping before grabbing lunch. Oliver loves food and he's enjoying it as I stare at him.
"What's wrong?" Sheila asked.
"What?" I ask and she raised her eyebrow. She knows me better than anyone.
"Nothing. Nothing's wrong." I denied and went back to my food.I lifted my head and she was still looking at me awaiting my truth and I sighed.
"I'm pregnant." I said softly and she gasped audibly causing a few people to turn and I shush her.
"I'm sorry. Ahhhh I'm happy. I'm crossing fingers for a girl." She says softly clapping her hands and I chuckle. "We need more girl power." She shrugs. "But you don't look excited. Why?"
I tell her how I still haven't made up with Sam even after she told me to stop being petty and forgive him.
"He called me a criminal." I justified my pettiness. We looked at each other in silence for a few seconds before laughing.
"He's not wrong." Sheila said and we laughed some more. It was hurtful when he said it because I worked hard to leave that life behind.
"How long are you making him stew for?" She eyed me carefully and I pouted.
"Fine, I'll let him off the hook tonight." I conceded.
We finished our lunch date with laughter as Sheila floated possible baby names, mainly naming the baby after herself. We decided to make a pregnancy reveal box for Sam so we went shopping again. We got a white onesie, socks and a beanie then placed the scan on top.
I can't believe I'm about to be a mom of two. It's crazy how life can switch up on you. Don't get me wrong, I love the new direction my life took, I just never saw it coming or believed it could happen to me. Sam was supposed to be a one night stand but now he's my fiancé and the father of my children. More than one. Crazy.
We drove home as I anticipated telling Sam that we're about to be parents again. Sheila went to her apartment while me and Oliver took the elevator to ours. We walked in and the sight before us was breathtaking. Flowers and candles lit the way from the door, delicious aroma coming from the kitchen and a handsome man with a beautiful smile walking towards me. Oliver ran to him first and he picked him up.
I immediately hugged and kissed him before he had a chance to speak, taking him by surprise.
"I'm sorry." He whispered against my lips and I smiled."I'm sorry too. I was being petty." I said and I got a deep chuckle out of him. He kissed my forehead and Oliver did the same before he burst into giggles. My sweet boy.
He led us to the dining room and sat Oliver in his chair before pulling mine for me. Always the gentleman. I had sat the box on the kitchen counter and he eyed it suspiciously. We ate dinner and his eye kept going to the box but he didn't ask about it and I knew curiosity was eating him up inside.
He cleared up the dinner plates and asked if we wanted dessert. "Yay!" Oliver squealed and Sam brought out his famous brownies. I remembered fondly the first time he made them for me even though the date did not end well. We enjoyed dessert and I offered to help him clean up but he refused.
