Sam and Kelly were finally Mr and Mrs Macallan. Their honeymoon was filled with sightseeing, eating, lovemaking and just being tourists.
Sam was fascinated by the childlike excitement on Kelly's face as they explored Italy. She was carefree and smiling all day and night. Sam made a mental note to keep that look on her face.
They were strolling, hand in hand down the street taking in the sights. Sam had arranged a visit to the museum that afternoon followed by lunch. This was the 7th of their 10 day honeymoon and while it has been magical, Sam has been carrying a secret that has been eating him up inside. He felt compelled to tell Kelly about his visitor and the news he dropped on him.
"What's wrong Sam?" Kelly asked as she handed her plate to the waitress. Sam knew it was now or never.
"I need to tell you something." He started and she nodded. "A few days before our wedding I had a guest at the penthouse. Our old friend." He said and she didn't need to ask who this old friend was. She asked what he wanted and if he was arrested since the FBI was looking for him.
"No he's not in custody. He said something else though." He said and took a deep breath before continuing. "He said he knew your father." She looked at him, searching his eyes and when she saw he was serious, she sighed.Sam explained that he didn't give him any details other than that nugget. She made it clear she didn't want to talk about it. Unless he came forward with more details, she was not interested in what he said.
"Kelly what if he's not lying?" He asked.
"Sam if I believe that, it means that my childhood could've been different but it wasn't because he did not come looking for me."
"I know that baby. I didn't mean to uproot all those memories for you." He kissed her hand.
They enjoyed the remainder of their afternoon by visiting another museum and doing some shopping.
"I believe you promised me an Italian dinner." She said with a smile but Sam could see it didn't reach her eyes. This thing was bothering her, but he didn't push because he also wants answers first from this guy.
"I sure did." Sam said as they walked into the villa.
Kelly watched happily as Sam cooked dinner. He was her dream come true and a sign that life can be better. That all the pain and suffering was not for nothing. That someone will come into your life and love you in the most beautiful way and love even the parts of you that are not savoury. He saved her from herself. She loved him, very much.
"What are you thinking about?" Sam asked as he turned off the stove.
"How much I love you." She said and he smiled.
"I am head over heels in love with you. You're the most important person in my life. You have my heart and I wouldn't have it any other way." He declared and kissed her, softly at first and then it turned hot.
He picked her up and was making his way to the bedroom without breaking the kiss. He sat on the edge of the bed with Kelly straddling him and his kisses trailed to her neck, collar and shoulder as he pushed her dress off.
"I thought we were having dinner." She stated between moans.
"I want dessert first." He said before claiming her lips again. And dessert he enjoyed.
"You know I love you right?" Sam asked Kelly as they cuddled in bed.
"I love you too." She said snuggling closer.
Sam held her close. He has never had a love like this. A love that almost tore him apart but it has held him together and filled his heart and life with immense joy. He fell in love easily with her, it was so easy and felt so right...perfect even.
