I bent over the toilet bile rushing up my throat.
Every ounce of food I consumed tonight came rushing out of me with a ferocity I'd never experienced before.

My stomach aches and my throat feels raw when I'm done.

All I can think about as I stand heading to the sink is whether or not Thaddeus could hear me.

He'd killed his father, 'gutted' him. I'd fought with every fiber of my being to continue talking as energetic, as friendly as I'd been in the start after that.

But as Thaddeus and I entered the room we were supposed to now be sharing, I'd rushed to the toilet with the uncontrollable need to retch out everything inside my stomach.

My hands shake as I brushed my teeth and water meant for my face splashed around the sink, staining it with the remaining makeup on my face.

I wipe the sink viciously, knowing Thaddeus would be entering to use it himself.

Laying on the bed in this dark room felt unnatural without my cats but it could be worse.
Thaddeus could be sleeping next to me but he's not. He's sleeping in his walk in closet.

Sargio, the butler, made arrangements for a bed in there for him earlier this week and barely a day later construction begun.

I peeked inside the room earlier whilst I was getting ready.

It's clean and still mostly had his clothes but he also had a bed on the side now, decorated by a lush duvet and Pristine sheets.

I pulled the blanket up to my face as I watched him come out of the closet shirtless with drawstring pants hanging low on his hips.

I gripped the blanket tighter when he comes out 15 minutes later and heads back into the closet without sparing me a glance.

I shivered at the thought that I was sleeping on his bed, my face was pressed against his pillow and my fingers clutching the comforter he must've used atleast once.

Here in this plain dark room, I'm surrounded by him and it's suffocating.

My phone says it's 4 Am now but I don't believe as my eyes drifted from it back to the ceiling I've been staring at since I got in bed at 10 pm.

I can't sleep with the fear in my stomach, the anxiety of knowing Thaddeus was capable of such an act and not knowing why.

Maybe in my haste to appease him and stay alive I hadn't thought fully about what I was agreeing to.

I made a decision then and with a heavy heart I stood from the bed, my legs pressed flatly on a dark floor being glued there by some invisible force.

The closet is far from the bed and every step I take to reach it leaves me nearly breathless with fear.

I knocked once, no reply and then I knocked twice this time.

I froze at the door with my heart in my throat waiting with my hand still in the air daring me to knock again.
The door opens and Thaddeus is on the other side. I hadn't even heard his approach.
his hair is a dark fluffy nest from sleeping and his light eyes squinting.

"You alright?" It's the first thing he asked, his voice a rough raspier tone than I'd ever heard it.
He must've assume I had a deadly serious reason for waking him up.

"I can't sleep." I say quietly.
Thaddeus's eyes finally open, just in time for him to furrow his brows.
"What?" He asked as if he couldn't believe what I was saying.

"Can we talk please... I know waking you up from sleep like this is not a great idea, believe me I'm more afraid than you could imagine right now-"

"Clearly not afraid enough." That same rough tone enters my ears.
"Please just sit let's talk." I grab a bicep and lead his groggy self to the bed before he says something else terrifying.
