Unintended (Steve Harrington x OC)

Chapter 26

School started, and I couldn't work a whole lot as I needed to focus on my grades which meant I didn't see Steve as much except when he took me to school. I think he did it so that we could get to be together. We got to spend some time on the weekends together because I could work those days and then hung out afterwards. There was one Saturday however that I had to take off because I had a major test on Monday that I needed to study for. I was going to have the whole house to myself for the weekend because my family was going to visit my aunt.

"Hey, are you free tonight?" I asked Steve as we were on the phone.

Usually I wouldn't call him while he was working but I knew when his break was so I timed it just right. I had been spending the whole morning studying and wanted a break so I figured I'd talk to him for a bit and invite him over tonight. I was feeling ready to take the next step of our relationship and since my family was gone now was a good chance.

"For you? Always" Steve replied.

"You want to come over? Give me a break from studying and we can have dinner?"

"I'd love to, what time?"

"Six."

"Can't wait, I'll see you tonight."

When we hung up I began to pick up the house a bit, it was not ever really a mess but I wanted tonight to be a special night. I was finally ready to sleep with Steve, after my freak out the last time. He has been so patient and gentle with me, we have made out several times but nothing further happens. Once I had finished picking up the house I studied for a few more hours before starting on dinner, it was nothing fancy. While it was finishing I went upstairs to change. I heard the doorbell ring and I went to answer it. I gently smoothed my dress, I rarely wore dresses but I wanted this night to be special. I opened the door smiling expecting to see Steve.

"Perfect timing dinner is," my words fell short.

Before me I did not see Steve, oh no. What I saw in front of me was Dustin, Lucas and Mike. I was confused as to what they were doing here.

"Uh hi," I said looking at them. "Can I help you?"

"We're here to hang out," Dustin replied.

"Oh you are? Tell me, where is Steve?"

"Here, the impatient little shits were so excited for your cooking apparently that they didn't wait for me to turn the car off," Steve replied.

"Come in, dinner is in the dining room. Dustin knows where that is, I need to talk to Steve."

"Uh oh, dad's in trouble" Dustin said walking into the house with the others.

"I'm in trouble?" Steve asked not questioning the fact that he was just called dad.

"You brought the kids?"

"They came into the video store complaining of being bored and wanting to use me for my car and I told them I was coming here and they got excited. I should have called and told you, I'm sorry" he said, kissing the top of my head.

Well, I knew that he was a sucker for those kids so what could I really do? I was frustrated in many ways but I couldn't change the fact that they were all here now. But boy Steve was in trouble and when he eventually realizes what I had planned he is going to be kicking himself.

"Good thing I made plenty of food then," I said before turning and going back inside.

"There was no need to dress up for us mom," Dustin said.

I was immediately self conscious as I had forgotten that I was wearing a dress, something they never saw me in before outside of the Snowball.

"Oh you know, just felt like mixing things up. I'm gonna go change, help yourselves to dinner. I'll be down shortly."
