The following week came, I had driven myself to school on Friday so that I could take Mike, Dustin and Lucas home after D&D. Steve had come to pick Robin up for work as it was supposed to start raining and he didn't want her to have to bike in it but I think part of why he came was to see me and get me to reconsider.
"I love you," he said, hugging me and not wanting to let go.
"I know," I said before placing a kiss on his lips. "You left plenty of reminders on me last night."
"I know you like it though," he smirked against my lips and I could not deny that I enjoyed it when he nibbled my neck.
"I love you too, now off you go."
"Come on lover-boy," Robin said, tugging on his arm from inside the car.
"I'll see you guys tomorrow" I waved before heading off back into the school for the game.
I walked until I saw the boys all gathered in an old classroom that was rarely used and given to the club for games. I opened the door and immediately was stared at by Gareth, Jeff and Alex. Did Mike and Dustin not tell them I would be coming? Eddie wasn't surprised to me so he has to at least know.
"Welcome princess, tell me what beast has attacked thee?"
"No beast, just my affectionate lover" I replied as I knew he meant the hickeys on my neck.
"Was Steve trying to claim property or something?" Dustin asked as I sat next to him.
"What? No! And it is not the first time you've seen them before."
"Wait Steve? As in Harrington?" Eddie asked.
"The one and only."
"You turned me down for a date, but you're getting hickeys from Harrington?"
"First off, you asked me out when I had a boyfriend. Secondly I am dating Steve now so yes he's allowed to do that."
"Oh come on, why is she even here and she's dating that jerk? She can't be here" Gareth said.
"He is not a jerk anymore and why does it matter who I am dating or not? It doesn't affect my ability to whip the ass of monsters. Come on Eddie, you aren't seriously going to make me leave because I'm dating Steve are you?"
"Please don't make her leave Eddie," Dustin, Mike and Lucas looked to their leader as Dustin spoke to him.
"If you weren't so good at the game I would make you leave. But you can hold your own and those kids seem to be attached to you so you may stay" Eddie replied.
I smiled, the three older boys were not thrilled with it but they would do as Eddie said and allowed me to play the game. Hours passed, and my aid was greatly needed in their current situation. I had the feeling that by the way I played tonight it was possible that they would seek me out again when in dire need despite the fact that I was dating someone a majority of them disliked.
"Red," I heard a voice say behind me as I walked out with the three younger boys. I turned to see Eddie so I stopped walking.
"You guys get in the car, I'll be there in a minute" I said, handing my keys to Dustin to unlock it.
"You weren't rusty at all tonight, you just fell right into it" Eddie said stopping in front of me.
"Well we did a one shot recently before the Byers' moved. The boys wanted to all play together and I joined them."
"Well, you will be welcome when it suits your schedule."
"Thanks Eddie, that means a lot."
"So uh, you and Harrington huh? Is it serious?"
