"Rachel. My second mom," Dustin said as he walked up to me in the halls.

"Dustin. My favorite child," I replied.

"Are you uh free tonight? We need a sub for Lucas at Hellfire and who better than you?"

"Sorry, I'm taking pictures of the game."

He frowned "Come on, there is another photographer on the paper that can do that we need you."

"My answer is still no. Honestly you and Mike should be at the game too, Lucas is your friend."

"Eddie won't move the game."

"Screw Eddie then?"

I patted his shoulder and left him standing there. I felt bad that I couldn't help them when they needed me. But I had my job to do, Steve was coming to be with me plus my dad and Emma were joining and lastly Lucas still has a shot at getting to play in the game and I want to support him.

Third Person POV

"Move your date this one time. You and Rachel have had numerous dates and will always have more," Dustin said on the phone.

"What, to hang out with you and Eddie "the freak Munson? Uh yeah I'll pass," Steve replied.

"You're just jealous because I have another older male friend."

"Ew. Ugh, whatever. II think Rachel could be, you know the one. Besides, her dad and sister are coming to the game."

"Then it's not even a date at all, so you can skip it."

"Oh I got customers. Call you back, bye."

"No you can't call me back, I'm at school."

Frustrated that both of his first tries turned him down, Dustin began to walk through the school trying to find someone to play and Mike was doing the same but having just as bad of luck.

End POV

I stayed at the school once it was over, Nancy and I were going over things for the game. She and Fred were going to be taking notes and then talking to players after the game. I was going to take photos from in the stands and the other kid was going to do it from the ground. The four of us headed towards the gym, I saw Steve with my dad and Emma going into the gym so I excused myself from the others and ran over. I put my hands over Steve's eyes from behind which was no easy feat seeing as I was several inches shorter.

"I wonder just who this could be," Steve said. "It's not Robin, because I saw her with the band and Emma is too short to reach."

"Hey!" Emma said before pinching his arm.

"You'll get there kid but these hands belong to my favorite short person." He moved my hands and turned around. "Hi beautiful," he kissed me softly.

"Hi, I'm your favorite short person?" I asked and he nodded.

Together we walked with my dad and Emma into the stands, I put my bag down on the ground and had my camera in my hand. I began to take some photos, Steve's arm went around my waist. A former student was announced to be singing the National Anthem. I felt Steve's body shift slightly and saw him looking at Robin while he whispered.

"Told you, Muppet" he whispered and I was confused but he wasn't wrong. Tammy Thompson did kind of sound like what.

"Okay she does sound like a Muppet," Robin had replied.

"Some inside joke I missed?" I whispered to him

"I'll explain it later, not exactly the place for it."
