Leah's Pov

When I get into my apartment I go straight to the bathroom and have a long hot shower, when I get out, I put on my pyjamas and plank myself in the sofa with the intentions of having a chill day. I turn on Netflix and chill with a cup of tea and some biscuits.

I'm currently about halfway through the film when I hear my phone ring, I check it and see that it's Alex, so I answer it.

Well, did you ask her

No, I chickened out

For God's sake Leah, what are you going to do now

I don't know, I never really had a plan b

OK, give me a few minutes to think and I'll text you

Ok, thanks Al

When she hangs up, I go into the kitchen and make myself a cup of tea. When I was in the kitchen with Alex this morning, before Abi got up, she interrogated me about what I thought about Abi. Eventually after getting sick of all the questions, I told her that I thought she was beautiful and that I would like to get to know her more. After more debates on whether I should tell her how I feel or not we settled on an agreement that the next time I was alone with Abi I would have to ask her for her number, little did I know, I would be alone with her in her car a few minutes later.

Just then I hear my phone beep in the living room so i go in and check it. I see that Alex has messaged me, so I open it to see what it says.

How about I send you her number and then in a few days or whenever you're ready, you casually suggest a night out in the team group chat, and then if people agree, you suggest inviting her. You said the girls said they enjoyed the night with her so I'm sure they wouldn't mind and then if she agrees, it's less intimidating for both of you because its more casual than it would be if it was just, you two.

Abi's Pov
*Time Skip*

It's been a few weeks since my night out with Alex. It's currently Friday the 5th of October and I've just finished the wash up from dinner and I'm sitting at the table with a cup of tea while Arthur and Nelly are watching tv. I've just got off the phone with my mum and dad and we've made a plan for them to come and visit before Christmas so I'm online checking out flights for them when I get a message from an unknown number.

Hey Abi, I hope you don't mind but I got your number from Alex. Me and some of the England girls are going out for a meal and a few drinks in town tomorrow night because we have a few days off and I was wondering if you wanted to join.

I sit and stare at the message for a few seconds because I'm really confused, that is until a second message comes through

When I see this, I can't help but smile. I'm not sure why but it's like everything else seems to melt away and all I can focus on is the surge of happiness running through my body. I change her contact's name, so I have it for the future as well. I know I need to reply but I'm not sure what to say, I really appreciate the thought and the invite, but I don't want to intrude on their meal.

Don't be silly, you wouldn't be intruding at all, it was actually the girls who suggested we invite you because they enjoyed the last night out so much😂

I sit for a few minutes and think about, I mean it would be nice to see her again, and the girls or course but at the same time, would it be very awkward. I'm pulled out of my trance by Arthur calling me so I don't get much time to let it play around in my head.

Later on in that night in bed I realise that I haven't messaged Leah back yet because I told her I needed to organise a few thing, by that I meant I need to see if I can get a babysitter. To be honest I don't even know who to text because I don't remember the last time I needed a babysitter other than when Carol offered after the match. The I remember that Leah told me that she got my number off Alex, so she was clearly in on this. I decide to text her.

😂😂sorry, should have asked you, I'm not even sure what she wanted it for, but she kept buggering me for it, so I just wanted to shut her up😂xx

I decide to just text Leah now even though I know she's probably asleep, so she won't see it.

Hey, just sorted everything out and I'll be able to go tomorrow night, looking forward to seeing you x

Once I have it sent, I turn off my phone and get some well needed sleep, it's been a long week.
