Abi's Pov

"Nelly come on were going to be late" I shout at her up the stairs as I put on Arthur's jacket

"I'm coming" she says running down the stairs withe her school bag in her hand.

"You ready" I ask her. "yeah" she replies on her way out the door to the car.

The three of us get in the car and begin the journey to Arthur's play school. When we get there, I get out and unbuckle him from his car seat and lift him out. He doesn't even wait for me to give him a kiss before running to the door. In all honesty I'm not complaining because for the first few months he used to cry his eyes out every morning because he didn't want to go.

I get back into the car and we make our way to Nelly's school. When we get there, I expect her to just get out and walk in like she usually does but she does the opposite, she stays in the car.

"Come on Nelly, what are you waiting for" I say a bit confused as to why she won't get out

"I don't want to go" she say refusing to look at me

"what's wrong Nell" I ask a bit worried now

"Nothing"

"Nelly it's not nothing if it's stopping you from going to school, come on just tell me, if I don't know then I can't help"

"The boys in my class are always making fun of me and Charlotte for playing football" she says sadly while looking at the ground

"Awh Nell, come here" I say, and I lean over and give her a quick hug

"Remember what aunty Alex told you" I ask her

"Yeah, just be strong and soon enough they'll be watching me on telly" she says with a smile

"Exactly, so go in and show them what you can do ok" I say, and she nods. I lean over and kiss her cheek "I'll see you later darling"

"Love you mum" she says getting out of the car

"Love you too darling"

I watch her as she walks over and hugs her best friend Charlotte and once, I've seen them walk in I drive away. This is usually the time that I would drive to work but unfortunately that isn't the case anymore because last four months ago the coffee shop closed down and I haven't really looked for any work since, but I am still on my way a coffee shop because I'm meeting Alex for some breakfast.

After driving through, the morning traffic for about ten minutes I finally get there. I park my car and make my way inside. I see Alex sitting at a table in the corner so i walk over to her. When she sees me coming, she gets up and pulls me into a hug.

"Hey Al" I say as we hug

"Ugh I feel like I haven't seen you in forever" she says as we pull away and sit down. I chuckle at her comment because it's only been a week, we then pick up the menu and give a quick scan through it before deciding what we want. The waiter makes his way over to our table.

"Morning ladies, what can I get for Yous"

"Erm, could I get the full English breakfast with a cup of tea please" Alex asks and the waiter nods and then looks at me,

"Could I get the eggs benedict and an oat milk latte please" I ask, and she nods

"That will be about ten minutes" he says while picking up or menu's

"Thank you" we both say and smile as he walks away

"So how have you been" I ask Alex

"Yeah, not too bad, I've been keeping busy and it's only going to get busier" she says while smiling at me
