12.

The next few days went by pretty quickly. I took Arthur to the doctors and they told me he had a bug so I got some medication to try and get rid of it quicker. This meant that while Nelly has been at school the last few days me an Arthur have just been chilling at home because he's not feeling up to much else.

I've had a few video calls with the magazine and they've told me that they definitely want me for the shoot but they just need to finalise a date, so this has definitely lifted my spirits.

It's currently Wednesday evening and I'm just cleaning up after the dinner when I hear my phone ring. I grab it off the table and see Tom's moms name on the screen, (Tom is Nelly and Arthur's dad), so I answer straight away.

(Toms mom Rachel in bold & Abi in italics)

Hi Rachel how are you

Hi Abi I'm good how are you

Yeah I'm good thank you, Is everything ok

Yeah yeah, me and Steve were just ringing for our weekly chat with Arthur and Nelly

Oh yeah of course give me two minutes and I'll get them

I quickly walk into the living room to see Arthur and Nelly sitting on the floor playing with Lego

"Guys nanny's on the phone" I say as I pass them the phone

"Hi nanny" Arthur screams down the phone which makes us all laugh. They both get up and sit on the sofa while I clean up the mess they've made. By the time I finish Nelly walks over with the phone in her hand

"Nanny wants to talk you you mummy" she says handing me the phone

"Ok thanks darling" I say taking the phone and making my way back out to the kitchen

Hi Abi, Nelly was just telling me that you've got a new job she says and we both chuckle

Oh yeah I do, erm I've actually got a photo shoot with a magazine but I'm just waiting on a date

Well me and Steve want you to know that we're really happy for you, and we're glad that things are finally working out for you Abi

Thank you Rachel, for everything, it really means a lot

No need to thank us honestly, we were actually wondering if we could have the kids for a night some time soon, I mean obviously we know you'll have a lot going on now but we'd love to have them

Yeah definitely, they'd love that. Let me just see what the next few day bring and I'll get back to you as soon as possible

No problem Abi, look after yourself ok

When I get off the phone I feel extremely grateful. Grateful  for everyone I have in my life but at this moment in time especially Rachel and Steve. When everything happened with Tom I expected them to stand by their son and his decision but they did the complete opposite, they stood by me from the very beginning. They looked after Nelly every day so I could work through my pregnancy with Arthur. When Arthur was born they used to send me money every week to help pay for all his medication and hospital bills and they along with Alex, carol and my family stood in as a second parent, and now they ring at least once a week sometime more to talk with Arthur and Neely, they live in Liverpool so they don't get to see them that often but they don't let that stop them having contact with their grandkids and I'm really grateful for that.
