The week had gotten easier as time went on. Seeing as you didn't get any calls or more visits from Ghostface. It was Friday and you sat at your desk finishing up the days work and you were excited as Jed had still agreed to take you to the video store and even offered to watch some movies with you. You suggested the two of you go to your house since you hadn't had any guests over since you moved in and he seemed excited. Your leg shook up and down under your desk as Jed walked into the building coming back from more of his usual field work.
"You ready?" he asked and you nodded as you looked up.
"Yeah, just let me get my stuff ready," you said standing up. You tried to hurry and Jed laughed as you ended up knocking over your pencil holder spilling all of your pens and pencils over the floor.
"It's fine. Let me get them," he said as he continued laughing. You tried to not make your nervousness obvious but you were sure he already knew. "Here," he said setting them back down. "Do you wanna take my car or should we go separately?" Jed asked.
"I was thinking maybe you can just follow me home and then we can take your car from there," you suggested.
"Sounds good. Do you live far?" he asked and you nodded no.
You hopped in his car after the drive to your house and felt a bit more relaxed. Jed's car was as clean as it usually was and you were glad you spent the extra time cleaning your house yesterday.
"Your house looks nice," Jed commented as the two of you began driving to the video store. He was good at that. He carried conversations a lot better than you did and it made it easier for you since normally you had a difficult time socializing.
"Thanks. It's not the nicest in town but it works," you said.
"Kind of secluded though, no?" Jed asked and you looked out the window as he drove the two of you to the store.
"Yeah I couldn't really afford another area. I like it anyways though. I prefer being away from-" you paused as you didn't wanna sound too antisocial.
"From people?" Jed smiled as he looked over at you.
"Yeah," you said a bit hesitantly.
"Ha. So you're kind of a hermit," he laughed and you frowned.
"I'm not! I just. I like being alone sometimes," you replied pretending to be offended.
"Ok, so the girl who has no friends and lives on the outskirts of town. Who I had to convince to go out isnt a hermit," Jed mocked playfully.
"Ok I guess I am. Unintentionally so," you replied as you felt the car come to a stop. You hadn't even realized you had arrived until you saw a somewhat large building with large glass windows letting you see inside and take a look at the rows of shelves filled with movies.
"Don't worry not too many people come here so you don't need to hide away," Jed continued to mock and you laughed.
"Good to know I thought I was gonna have to wait in the car," you played along. Jed laughed in reply and it was louder than usual making you blush.
Jed opened the door for you again as you entered the shop and you felt the cold air from the ac brush against your face. There were countless rows and yet few customers just as Jed had mentioned.
"You pick any movies you want I'll rent them," Jed said as he followed behind you.
"Oh- I can pay. You don't have to," you said but he just gave his usual smile and you knew what he was about to say.
"I don't mind. The horror movies are in the back by the way if that's what you're looking for," he said and you nodded.
You had picked out some of your favorites and he picked one as well. You told him again that you were fine paying but he didn't let you. On the drive back to your place he offered to get the two of you take out and you agreed as you didn't have much groceries to cook at home and you made a mental reminder to get more on the weekend when you had time. When you arrived back at your place you placed one of your favorite movies in the vcr feeling a bit awkward at the fact that you had to bend over a bit to reach it as it was at the bottom of the entertainment center. You walked back over to the couch where Jed sat and picked up your plate of food as the movie started up. A while after you had finished your food you noticed Jed had put his arm around your shoulders and you tensed up a bit. You didn't expect it but eventually relaxed.
"This movie is pretty gory. I thought you were a scaredy cat," he said.
"Ok first a hermit and now I'm a scaredy cat?" you asked laughing.
"I mean if the shoe fits," he replied as you looked up at him. You found yourself staring at him and he stared back as well and you noticed his eyes look down at your lips making you blush a bit. You leaned in a bit before hearing the phone on your counter ring and you jumped back.
"Are you ok?" Jed asked as you stayed frozen. The phone rang again and you broke out of your trance.
"Yeah let me just go get that," you said as you stood up quickly. You walked over to your phone hesitating before you picked it up. "Hello?" you asked into the phone feeling a bit more afraid than usual.
"Hey is this Martha?" a ladies voice asked on the other end. You sighed in relief feeling your body calm down after trembling.
"No, im sorry," you replied as you looked over at Jed. He seemed concerned but you gave him a thumbs up.
"Oh, sorry dear I must've called the wrong number," she replied.
"It's fine. Goodbye," you said before hanging up. You walked back over to the couch and Jed gave you a questioning look. "Just some lady with the wrong number," you said and he nodded.
"You seemed pretty scared. I mean I know you don't like people, but that's a bit much," he mocked and before you could reply he pulled you in by your waist. He gripped your sides as you sat on top of him with your legs on each side of him. "You're really cute you know that?" he said making your cheeks heat up.
You stayed silent unsure of what to say but he must've understood as he smiled before he looked down at your lips again. "You get nervous so easily," he chuckled and you smiled as he put his hand on your cheek. You looked at him as he slowly got closer to you and then you closed your eyes as you felt his lips press against yours. They moved slowly at first but then he moved his hands down to your waist as he picked up the pace. You placed your hands on his arms feeling them as he continued to kiss you. The two of you continued to sit there making out for a while leaving the movie playing in the background going unwatched. He moved his hands to your thighs and grabbed them causing you to moan a bit. He pulled back leaving you wondering if you had done something wrong and he placed his hands back up on your waist. You must've looked confused as he began to talk.
"You didn't do anything wrong. I just don't want you to feel pressured to do anything," he said and you couldn't help feeling both happy and disappointed at the same time. Jed was so caring but part of you wished he would just take you right then and there.
"I- I appreciate it," you said as you looked back at him.
"Come on let's finish the movie," he said indicating he wasn't gonna leave quite yet and you nodded in agreement. You got off of him and decided to lay your head on his lap as you looked back at the screen. You could feel his hand slowly rest on your head and began running through your hair.
"She's so dumb if she just looked behind her she would've lived," you commented making Jed laugh as the movie continued to play. When the movie ended Jed got up and you walked him over to the door wishing he had just stayed the night instead.
"I'll see you Monday," he smiled and you nodded.
"Yeah, thanks for the movies and dinner," you smiled as he leaned in and gave you a quick kiss.
"Maybe we can do this again sometime," he said as you looked at him.
"Hmmm, I'll have to think about it," you joked making him laugh.
"Well tell me when you decide," he replied making you laugh. He started to walk away but turned when you shouted out at him.
"Drive safe ok?" You said and he laughed before putting his hand out and waving at you.
That night you laid in bed feeling giddy at the thought of Jed and the way he felt pressed against you. It wasn't something you were expecting but you definitely enjoyed it. Jed was easy to talk to and you were excited to be able to be semi close to someone especially since back home that was a bit more difficult for you. Maybe things would be better here you thought to yourself. You thought about Jed more, but as you continued to think about it you slowly began to be reminded of what had occurred the other night. How Ghostface had broken into your home. The thought of him over you and his hand between your legs. You squeezed your eyes closed as you tried to forget the thought but it stayed in your mind and you couldn't help but feel the space between your legs start to heat up again. You ignored it and pushed the thoughts away before feeling fear set in at the idea of him showing up again. You sat up and sighed feeling a bit overwhelmed before you calmed yourself taking deep breaths before laying back down. It was a while before you finally felt comfortable enough to fall asleep. The night was far from over however as you continuously woke up with panic filling your chest before realizing everything was ok and laying back down. This was something you were used to though, as it had happened almost every night since.————————
Danny gripped the steering wheel in front of him tighter as he drove home. He thought back to moments ago when he was still beside her. As she sat laughing at the stupid decisions being made by people in the movie he couldn't help but grin at the thought that she was the same. She was so clueless and he couldn't wait to finish her off. He wanted to fuck her right then and there though he realized Jed wouldn't do that. And as much as he hated it he was Jed to her. He had to be patient and kind so he couldn't rush anything with her. He knew he would get his chance however as she fell easily for him. He didn't even have to try and the thought boosted his ego at the same time as it angered him. He knew she found him attractive. Though, he wanted her to like Danny not Jed. Regardless, he knew he would have his fun with her. Though, as he began to imagine how her terrified face would look as he finally revealed himself and stuck his blade into her he felt something else. A feeling he couldn't quite pin.
