Why me

Danny sat observing the notepad in front of him. He had been working on his next victim. He wasn't quite sure what he was going to do, though he knew it had to be a bit more attention grabbing than his usual work. He hadn't been as focused as before and he needed to make up for it. Especially since he had been spending too much time with her. It had put a bit of a bump in his plans but he knew it would pay off in the end. His bloodlust was building up and he didn't know how much longer he could handle it but he reminded himself that the patience was worth it. As a result his work had been a bit more violent, though it worked in his favor as the town remained fearful of him. Apparently the idea of having your head smashed in was terrifying. He laughed at the reminder of how she looked when she had found out. He just needed more time with her. Then when he was ready he would finally end it in a grand finale. Slit her throat as she watched his face intently. He knew he would have to reveal himself to her last second. Watch her face drop and fill with confusion as all the dots started to connect in her mind. He would laugh as he slid his knife across her throat and the tears streaming down her face would mix with the blood seeping out. The satisfaction of it would be something he couldn't ever top again. His magnum opus. His fist tightened around the pen he was holding as he scanned his notes. Something about her had pissed him off last time he visited. She seemed braver. That didn't bother him much, though the fact that she was angry did. She knew who he was and although she wouldn't say it out loud she liked him. She liked Danny. She wouldn't admit it but he knew. She always had this sad pout on her face when he would leave. It made him want to stab her right then and there. Connect them through the blade as it sunk deeper into her chest. Then he would be the last thing she ever saw and she wouldn't have to watch him leave. Though, she didn't even act surprised at his appearance last time. Her facade was easy to break through though as she gave in almost instantly when he wrapped his hands around her throat. She was so easy to break. He loved controlling her emotions. Making her terrified and yet she would cling to Jed and rely on the same man that would be the reason she was scared in the first place. He smiled at the thought of her falling apart right beneath him. He needed to keep her that way. Fragile. He needed to make sure everything would still go to plan. She needed to remember why she was scared of him and as the idea came to him he smiled as he held the pen to his lips.

The quiet buzz of the tv filled the room as you sat on the couch trying to force yourself to eat the cereal you had poured into a bowl. It was Saturday morning and you still didn't feel fully recovered from last night. Though, how could you be? Danny had visited again and though you were frightened and angry, you couldn't help but also feel sadness. You tried to not think about why you cared so much as you didn't want to feel any worse than you already did, but the thoughts loomed endlessly in your mind. Jed had called earlier to check up on you and though the words were clawing to escape your mouth you simply said you had a rough night but you were fine. He had asked if you wanted to go out to try to get your mind off things and you agreed, unable to tell him no. All you wanted to do was stay home but you knew that wouldn't be any good and you really wanted to see Jed.
You had seen some parents on the television as you flipped through the different shows and it reminded you of yours. How long had it been since you had spoken to them? Ever since you moved to Roseville you had avoided talking to them completely. You tried to forget about the things that had caused you to leave your hometown in the first place but they pushed through.
Your parents had never really been there emotionally. It was the average middle class family on the outside although you knew better than that. Your father was rarely home and the same could be said for your mother. When they were home it was just constant arguing and they ignored you frequently. The only things they ever seemed to ask when they were around were about how well you were doing with school. They constantly berated you for the smallest failures and only expected the best, despite the fact that they never even helped. It was like they thought that you could raise yourself. Apart from that you had a rough time relating to anyone around you. You had difficulties making friends and although you had made a few they were never really close ones. You had a lot of anxiety growing up thanks to the pressures from your family and being deemed the outcast of your hometown. Having a lot of free time away from people you found yourself writing a lot. You had written a lot of different things but eventually took up horror after watching a lot of movies while staying up too late one too many nights. At first you found your interest odd as you would get scared easily but as the feeling of relief at the end would fill you, you knew exactly why you had enjoyed it. Writing horror helped your anxiety and it felt like a suitable outlet to let out what you had been going through. You hadn't told your parents much other than maybe you had wanted to be a writer and when your parents told you they wanted you to go to college in your hometown you knew the second you could you would leave. And eventually when you had raised enough money and had finally landed a job at a newspaper you left. Regardless, of where it was located and what had ailed the town. You had heard about a few murders in the area but you had no idea it was a serial killer plaguing the very town you had agreed to move to. Though, you didn't have much of a choice. Once you had unlocked the front door of your new home you knew you could never go back to your old one. It wasn't like you were leaving much behind anyways.
So much for that fresh start you were hoping for. You were grateful with your workplace and you enjoyed being able to write as it was one of the few things that helped you get through a lot of the rough spots in your life. You had even made some friends like Sara although you unintentionally avoided a lot of the times she asked you to hang out. And best of all you had Jed. He wasn't off put by how awkward you were and seemed to genuinely care about your interests and how you were. You couldn't help but feel that Danny was ruining everything you had tried building for yourself. And for a moment as you wondered why you even cared you thought to yourself maybe it was as simple as feeling like he cared.
The phone ringing on your counter made you jump in your seat a bit causing you to spill a bit of your cereal onto your clothes. You groaned as you stood up and headed to the kitchen to grab a wash cloth and wipe off the food you had spilled.
"Hello?" you asked as you picked up the phone. Although you were slightly worried it would be Danny you knew he probably wouldn't be calling you so early in the day. He hadn't even called since he started just showing up in your home.
"Hey so are you gonna go to the Halloween party tomorrow?" Sara asked and you mentally sighed. She had asked you a few times since you last saw her at the grocery store and you had always said maybe or you weren't sure. Truthfully, you had hoped to spend the night handing out candy and watching horror movies with Jed but you hadn't gotten around to asking and felt a bit embarrassed.
"Um... who's going again?" you asked as you rubbed your eyes.
"Josh and Kristy, they're gonna meet a few people there but you should really go. You've been locked up for a while," Sara said and you frowned a bit.
"I don't know," you said unsure. "I wouldn't even know what to wear," you added.
"I have a few costumes if you wanna pick from those. I can pick you up early or you can just drive to my house before we go," she said. You tried to listen as she continued talking about the different costumes she had in mind though your eyes focused at the street outside your window. Jed's car had pulled up and you looked down at your pajamas feeling a bit embarrassed at the thought of him seeing you in those.
"Let me think about it," you said to Sara before the two of you said your goodbyes.
As you hung up the phone you noticed Jed walking up to your front door and groaned at the realization you wouldn't have time to get changed first. You scurried over to the front door just as he started to knock and you unlocked it before pulling open the door.
"Hey! Sorry I'm not ready yet. I didn't realize you would be here so soon," you said in a rushed tone but stopped the second you noticed he was holding a bouquet of flowers. He smiled brightly back at you as your eyes met his.
"It's fine, you look adorable," he said and you blushed as he gave you the flowers. "You sounded a bit upset over the phone I thought these would help," he said and you nodded as you grabbed them.
"Thank you," you said as you let him inside. "You didn't have to," you added and closed the door behind him.
"Is everything alright?" he asked as you walked to the kitchen to get a vase for the flowers.
"Yeah I just had a rough night. It's alright though," you said as you found a glass one that you had brought with you when you moved to Roseville. It was a smaller one that you used to keep some flowers in back home on your desk. "Thanks for coming over," you said and you felt his arms wrap around your waist as his head pressed against your cheek.
"Well, you know I'm always more than excited to be here," he smiled and you giggled a bit as you tried to put the flowers in the vase after filling it with water.
"So, you didn't tell me where you wanted to go," you said as you set the flowers down and turned to look at him as he still held you.
"I was thinking about taking you to go see that new scary movie that's in theaters. Since tomorrow is Halloween and all," he said and you laughed.
"Speaking of which, Sara invited me to a Halloween party tomorrow. I'm not a hundred percent sure I wanna go since I was thinking maybe you could come over and we could rent a few movies to watch and hand out candy," you replied shyly hoping he would enjoy the idea. He furrowed his brows a bit and you felt disappointment start to set in.
"I would love to but Bob's having me go to the towns trunk or treat to get some photos and interview some people. It's around 5 but I'll probably be up writing the article till late," he said and you made a small pout. "He said he wants to get some good news out to people," he added.
"It's ok I get it," you replied and he looked at you with sad eyes.
"You should go to the party though, I'm sure it'll be a lot of fun," he said and you gave him a sad look before responding.
"I don't know," you started to say but he interrupted.
"I know you have a hard time around a lot of people but it could be fun. Might actually find yourself enjoying socializing," he said and you laughed.
"Fine maybe I'll go," you said trying to appease him.
"You don't have to I just don't want you all alone on Halloween," he said as he moved some of the hairs from your face.
"No, you're probably right. Plus, Sara has been bugging me about it for a while now," you said before pulling away from him. "Let me go get dressed super quick," you added before he nodded and you headed to your room.
As you walked to your room you were reminded of the times Danny would practically drag you there. Every time you would walk down the hallway you would recount the events and how his hands felt tangled in your hair and how his body pressed behind yours. Though this time you knew you were walking alone. You were just going to get dressed to go have a nice day with Jed. Jed. You felt horrible at betraying him. And as soon as you walked into your room and saw your bed in front of you, you cried. The memories were too strong. Just hours ago he had pressed you against your sheets and you couldn't tell whether you were mad at him. Or yourself. You tried to forget the fact that you had enjoyed being with Danny. Instead you started to get dressed not wanting to leave Jed waiting for too long. You put on one of your favorite outfits deciding to opt for something a bit warmer than normal since the air was getting colder and theaters were always cold.
When you stepped back out to the living room Jed gave you his warm smile and the two of you walked out to his car. He opened the door for you as usual and you couldn't help the feeling of comfort you got as you sat in the passengers seat next to him. The drive was short and the of you had spent it talking about some of your hobbies. You asked him to teach you how to take professional photos and that made him chuckle before he explained it wasn't that difficult.
You saw the white neon sign hanging against the brick wall as you had approached the theatre. It was the first time you had even been there since you had moved to Roseville and you realized maybe you should go out more. Jed pulled into the parking lot next to the theatre and you noticed quite a few other cars but nothing overwhelming. You looked around as you got out of the car taking in a view of the area. Downtown Roseville wasn't that big only lasting a couple blocks before dissolving into the more suburban streets and neighborhoods. In fact had there not been a sign stating it was downtown you wouldn't have distinguished it from the rest of Roseville. That and the fact that the architecture there was slightly older leaving a homey feel lingering. There were many buildings lining the streets, but there wasn't a bustle of people you would normally expect in areas like this. Instead, it was more like a few people that would walk here and there so the streets weren't completely empty but also not busy and for a moment you had thought that maybe there would be more if Ghostface hadn't scared everyone into their homes. You felt a bit startled as Jed's hand had reached for yours but you relaxed as he smiled at you. His hand was warm as it grasped yours and for a moment you felt safe again. Jed had that effect on you.
As you walked up to the box office Jed paid for the tickets and you gave him a knowing look that he just smirked at. The fact that he always paid for your dates left you appreciative, but you really wished he would let you for once.
"You know I am a paid intern," you remarked jokingly and he chuckled as he held the theatre door open for you.
"Underpaid intern?" he asked making a look at you and you rolled your eyes.
"You're gonna have to let me pay at some point," you remarked smiling as the two of you walked to the concession stand.
"Or you could make me those homemade waffles again. Maybe tomorrow morning?" he asked and you blushed at the insinuation he would be staying the night.
"I'd be glad to," you replied and he pulled you a bit closer.
The smell of the popcorn filled the theatre reminding you how much you had missed going to one. Your eyes gazed over the glass cabinet before you, staring at all the different candy options they had as you walked up to the concession stand. The guy at the counter had an unamused face as he organized the area. His short black hair was a contrast to the red vest he was wearing that had the theaters logo imprinted in white on it. He continued cleaning before noticing the two of you.
"How can I help you?" he asked in a semi upbeat tone you knew he had just put on for the sake for work.
"Large popcorn and a large soda," Jed stated before noticing you looking at the glass below you. "You want anything else?" he asked and you shyly shook your head no. "Stubborn," he laughed before he ordered for you. He had already known all your favorite treats thanks to the movie nights the two of you had and you couldn't help the look on your face as the guy at the counter went to ring up all of the items. You tried to pull your wallet out from your pocket but Jed was ten times faster. He seemed good at pulling things out of nowhere quickly and you tucked the wallet back into your pocket in defeat as he paid.
"Theatre 8," you said as you looked over the ticket. Jed handed you the popcorn as he carried the rest of the items and the two of you walked to your theatre.
As the two of you walked in you noticed that there was only one other group of people that had been sitting towards the far back.
"Horror movie showing practically empty the night before Halloween?" Jed asked as the two of you sat in seats far away from the other group.
"Yeah, probably because of-" you started to say before cutting yourself off. Jed must have realized the change in your mood as he gave you a soft look before putting his hand atop yours.
"Should we watch something else?" he asked concerned. Though you were fearful of what you had remembered you didn't want to ruin the night and you knew Jed also liked horror movies.
"Y'aknow although I'm a well known scaredy cat I think I can handle this," you replied trying to be funny and his expression perked up.
"Don't forget hermit," he added and he chuckled as your brows furrowed. "I think it's cute. That you act brave even when you're afraid," he said and though the words had reminded you of something, you weren't quite sure what. "Need more people like that," he said looking at you and you blushed.
"I don't think I do that great of a job," you laughed as the previews finally started on the screen.
It wasn't until a bit into the movie that Jed had moved his arm behind you and you looked over at him making him chuckle as you had caught him trying to be sly.
"What? Don't want me to hold you?" he whispered in your ear and although the the comment wasn't vulgar the feeling of his breath against your ear had made your lower half start to warm up.
"Actually I was hoping you would because I'm o-so terrified," you faked a timid voice and that caused him to chuckle again before his eyes met yours again. He leaned in and you couldn't help but notice as he stared down at your lips. You leaned closer and closed your eyes as his lips met yours. They were warm and moved against yours so perfectly. What had started out as a small kiss led into a much messier mini make out session. You put your hand on his chest as your head was rested against his.
"Jed we're in a theatre," you said shyly and you saw him smirk as he pulled back.
"Can't help myself with you," he said and you rolled your eyes.
The movie wasn't as scary as you thought it would be and you weren't sure if you were disappointed or relieved as the two of you walked out of the theatre. On one hand you loved a good scare and on the other you had had way too many recently.
"Thanks," you said as you walked with Jed to the car. He looked slightly confused so you continued. "For taking me to the theatre," you said and he nodded.
"I'm glad you enjoyed it," he said and you smiled.
"I haven't been in a long time. I missed it," you said.
"Did you go to the theatre a lot back home?" he asked and you shook your head.
"No, but when I did I always enjoyed it," you said and he nodded again.
"So you want take out for home or for me to take you to dinner?" Jed asked as the two of you got into the car.
"Either sounds nice," you said and he looked at you waiting for an answer. "I think I've had my share of being outside today," you added and he nodded smiling.
After the two of you had gotten the takeout and gone home you found yourself sitting at the kitchen table across from Jed as the two of you talked about the movie. Jed had laughed at your comment that the movie wasn't that scary and you shook your head as you told him you meant it.
"I think I'm gonna go to that party," you said as you looked at Jed.
"Sounds fun," he said. "Any idea on what you're wearing?" he asked and you frowned a bit.
"No, but Sara said she has a few costumes I can try," you said before adding, "I hope they're not too much." Jed laughed and you joined before heading him speak again.
"Just stay safe ok?" he said and you nodded.
Eventually after the two of you were done eating you had ended up on the couch continuing your conversation. You sat next to him and he watched intently you spoke. Though his eyes seemed to be focused on your lips and you giggled a bit while you spoke.
"Y'aknow if you want something else you can just ask," you said and he chuckled. "Or I can just do something for you," you added and he smirked.
"Like what?" he asked taunting you and you bit your lip too embarrassed to say anything.
Instead you gave him a knowing look before you moved closer to him. You climbed up onto his lap and felt his shirt scrunch up a bit under your hands. You didn't waste any time as you leaned in and pressed your lips against his instantly feeling him return the pressure. He moved his hands up to your waist as he deepened the kiss. After a while of a heated make out session you pulled back and slowly got off the couch and kneeled in front of him leaving him looking surprised. His eyes darkened and you bit your lip nervously as you began to undo the belt and buckle on his pants. He pushed your hand away eagerly as he undid them faster and you couldn't help but feel the space between your legs tense as you saw the outline of his cock pushing against his underwear. You moved forward and slowly pressed your tongue against him causing a groan to escape his mouth. He moved his hands to your head as you continued to lick at him through his underwear.
"Such a tease," he commented and you looked up to see a small smirk on his face. You didn't want to make him wait any longer so you complied and moved your hands to his underwear before slowly tugging at them. You moaned as you saw the tip of his cock already releasing precum. You laid your tongue flat and licked the cum off of it before slowly hollowing out your mouth and taking him in. He groaned and his hands tightened in your hair as you started to move slowly downwards. Despite the fact that it was difficult to take him all in you tried to relax your throat and when you reached the base you swirled your tongue around him. This caused him to jolt upwards a bit and you gagged but he only seemed to enjoy it. You started out slowly making sure his cock had enough spit on it before you picked up the pace. He was rather gentle at first as you continued to move up and down but eventually he began to thrust slowly into your mouth and you started to moan on his cock. This made him start to thrust harder and then he just pressed his hand onto your head pushing you down further as he continued. At one point when you thought he was going to finish he stopped abruptly and pulled your head back and you looked up at him in confusion.
"If we don't stop soon I'm not gonna have anything for you," he said and you could feel the pressure in your lower stomach.
Before you could even respond he helped you up before pushing you onto the couch face down. You hadn't expected him to be as aggressive but it excited you. You looked down at the plush seat below you as you felt one of his hands start to pull down your pants as the other held your waist. The cold air hit against your skin as you felt him line up behind you and his torso felt warm against your skin as you felt the tip of his cock start to push against your lips. You let out a loud moan as you felt him push into you slowly and his grip on your waist tightened. He moved slowly at first and you could feel his cock stretch you out until he finally he was fully seated inside of you. You couldn't help the whimper that escaped your lips and he started to push in and out of you over and over until the sound of his skin hitting against yours filled the room. You couldn't help but clench as you heard his moans from behind and eventually his head was next to yours allowing you to get a small peak at him. He moved his hand up to your head and pushed it down before he started to kiss the side of your neck as he pounded you from behind. The feeling was becoming overwhelming and you felt yourself getting closer to the peak.
"Cum for me baby," he said into your ear and it sent you over the edge. He pushed deeper into you as your walls tightened around his cock and you felt it twitch before he let out a loud moan and his cum shot deep into you.
Your legs trembled as he slowly pulled out and you could feel his cum start to seep out of you. He smacked your ass before you could get up and you looked nervously at him as you pulled up your underwear and pants.
"Was I too rough?" he asked as he buckled his pants again and you shook your head nervously.
"No," you said as a smile creeped up on your face "I like it rough," you added and you could see a smirk appear on his face before he chuckled.
