Danny looked at the clock on his dashboard. 10:00pm. Perfect. He put his mask on his face feeling it muffle his breath and fog up. It was a far too familiar feeling to him. One that warmed his body with joy... and excitement. A kind only that further pushed his already ecstatic sense of state into a tingly sort of madness. He already had his little venture planned. It would have to be quick as it was quite risky. And Danny loved the risk. He loved how challenging it could be considering most things felt too easy for him. He looked himself over once in the rear view mirror before climbing out of his car that he had conveniently parked about a block or two away from the party. It was near a park with an empty lot. One only used this late for the occasional drug dealing.
Normally he had taken a much more hidden route. But as it was Halloween night he didn't have much reason to hide himself. Sure, it was a bit later in the day so the streets were practically empty but no one would suspect a thing especially with one of the frat houses throwing one of their obnoxious annual Halloween parties not far from his journey. He had picked himself quite the outfit too. He had seen the mask at one of the local antique stores and found it perfect. It was the antithesis to ghostface's solemn appearance. It was one of the first times his outward appearance mirrored his internal emotions. Nothing but ecstatic.
Apart from that he had grabbed some red cloth and turned it into quite the robe layout for himself. It was seemingly less protective than his normal gear but he had fitted it to be quite flexible. It didn't get in his way as much as his normal gear did. Shame he was only planning on killing tonight. He had partly wished he would be visiting her at her home. He could've fucked her so much better with all this mobility. Though, he knew he had work to get done and he hoped she would stick around to admire it all.
He continued to trot towards his destination until he finally made it outside. The music had been blasting so loudly you could hear it a few houses down. He noticed the fence to the backyard was open and decided to take that entrance as it was a little more secluded. Sure enough the backyard still had some people lingering about but not as much as inside. He strode over to the back glass sliding door that had been left open to allow the people to freely walk through and as he entered the house he watched to see if anyone had made any sudden looks his way. Anyone pausing their actions. Though his outfit was different from the usual, it was meant to have a similar feel. If anyone noticed the similarities then he would have to leave sooner than planned. To his convenience though everyone seemed far too distracted to take notice. He looked around momentarily as he walked taking note of everything his eyes could see. He couldn't help but chuckle under his mask at the thought of her being here. It was packed and everyone seemed drunk. He wondered how his little hermit had been taking it. Before his mind could wander further his head came to a halt as he saw her. His girl. He stared as she stood giggling at some guy that she had been talking to. He couldn't make out much of him other than that he had been wearing some cheaply made Halloween costume. Maybe, one he had made himself. Regardless, Danny felt his anger growing under the layer of excitement that had coated his being only moments ago.
He stared for a few moments as she took a few sips of her drink and continued to talk to him. She seemed to be a bit more friendly than he had expected. Maybe, she had drank a bit of alcohol. It was only a moment later that she seemed a bit bored and watched as her eyes lingered around the room until eventually they landed on him. She stopped so suddenly like it was a friend she hadn't spoken to in a long while. He knew she must've been reminded of Ghostface. Her eyes didn't leave his even as she nodded absent mindedly at the guy still trying to talk to her. Danny tilted his head ever so slightly hopefully as a hint to her but her attention was brought back to the guy in front of her. Danny took this moment to move a bit further into the crowd. Now wasn't the time to get distracted. Though, he took a moment to look back at her and watched as her eyes searched for him unable to find him and eventually she gave up and went back to looking at the guy before her.
He watched as they continued to talk for a bit before the guy rested his hand on her arm. Danny's anger grew as he continued to watch from afar feeling his eye twitch ever so slightly under his mask. Though, her expression dropped instantly and she looked taken aback at what the guy had said. The guy eventually let go of her arm and Danny couldn't help but chuckle to himself again as she moved away from the guy before eventually storming off completely. Loyal. When she had gotten a bit far from the guy Danny knew he had to go back to looking for his intended target for the night. His head came to a stop as he saw him. There he was, dressed up as some stupid football player. Danny scoffed as he watched him continue to drink despite already being almost wasted. He was talking to a few people next to him but Danny waited until Josh had walked away from his little group. Now was his chance.
"Hey man I heard you got the hookup," Danny said casually as he approached Josh. He had put his arm around Josh's shoulders giving them a tight squeeze as he looked down at him.
"Not so loud man," Josh chuckled before pulling away from Danny. "What are you lookin' for?" he asked as he swayed a bit in a drunken manner. He had his free hand behind his head as he took another sip from his cup.
"Just trying to get a little more pumped yaknow?" Danny replied chuckling in return. People enjoyed mimicry. Something about feeling safer that way.
"Yeah I got some in my boys' room upstairs. Come on," Josh said as turned to walk towards the stairs.
Danny followed behind albeit a bit slower than Josh. He knew she wasn't so far away and he needed to be careful about what he did next.
As Josh loomed ahead towards a room at the end of the hall Danny stopped momentarily as he noticed her through a door cracked open ever so slightly. She was laying down on the bed staring up mindlessly at the ceiling. He couldn't help as he lingered outside of the doorway watching intently as she raised one of her hands up to her forehead holding it ever so slightly.
"Drink too much baby?" he snickered quietly to himself. Suddenly, the idea of walking in there and fucking her in that bed in her hazed state seemed like a much more appeasing idea. He could practically feel the ruffles on her skirt as he imagined pushing it up ever so slightly to get a better peak. But as quickly as the thought came it left. Danny was a man on a mission.
As he looked back towards where Josh had been he sighed at having lost eyes on his target for the night. Without warning she stumbled out of the room. Almost as if she had been frightened by something. She had bumped into him accidentally and he couldn't help as he instinctively grabbed her arm. Holding her was second nature to him.
"Sorry," she stumbled as she looked up at him with her big doe eyes. She was definitely drunker than intended and Danny couldn't help but stare down into her eyes as she stood frozen in some sort of trance. It was as if without speaking she knew it was him. And that apologetic expression that had encompassed her face now was nothing but a fearful gaze up at him.
Without a second thought she pushed him away and headed towards the stairs. Danny wanted nothing more than to grab her by her hair and pull until he felt the jolt of her head fall backwards redirecting her towards the room but he knew he couldn't in this moment. Instead, he watched her stumble down the steps and peer around the room. He couldn't help for a moment but feel... worried. She had been pretty drunk and he didn't like the idea of her being here unattended.
"Hopefully, she isn't stupid enough to walk home alone," he thought to himself as he turned back around looking for Josh. He continued to walk down the hallway until he reached the door at the end. Josh was inside with his back turned looking through a dresser.
Danny smirked as he heard the "click" behind him from closing the door. This was it. As Josh drunkenly searched the dresser in front of him Danny approached from behind.
"J-just give me a second," Josh slurred as he fumbled through clothes.
Josh was a big man. He was a football player. Danny knew taking him head on wouldn't be easy and in a house full of people it wasn't really ideal for his target to make so much noise. This couldn't take long like his usual kills. This had to be quick and stealthy. Danny could feel his heart begin to race. He gave a quick glance around the room trying to see what Josh could fight back with. "If he would even get the chance," Danny thought to himself.
He began to walk over in a slow manner. Nothing too urgent. Nothing to give away his intentions. But fast enough that the distance between them was soon closed. Josh didn't even take notice to his sudden approach. Danny felt giddy. He pulled his buck knife from the sheath strapped to his leg. It was always more convenient there. Without a second thought he grabbed Josh pulling him back.
"Wh-" Josh tried to say but was pulled back suddenly by Danny.
Danny raised his knife and stuck it in the side of Josh's throat causing him to make a quick choking noise before suddenly it stopped.
"Sorry man. It's not personal or anything just... my girl and I need to work out a bit of our problems and I think this would help yaknow? I mean. Not that you would really understand," Danny said as he pulled the knife back out causing a splatter of blood across his mask and the room. Josh, unable to speak, simply keeled forward as he held the side of his throat.
"You know her though," Danny continued as he walked up behind Josh again. "(Y/n). She's a bit of a stubborn one," Danny added as he kicked Josh forward causing him to knock against the dresser he had been searching through moments ago. Thankfully, the music was loud enough to cover some of the ruckus.
"Anyways, just see this as...taking one for the team. I'm sure you've heard that before right?" Danny said as he plunged his knife into Josh's back. Despite his playful banter Danny couldn't be more thrilled. He loved his work. And he didn't regret a bit of it. As Josh laid on the floor his breathing coming to a still Danny kneeled down next to him. "If it makes you feel better I could've made this a lot more painful," he said in a darker tone. Danny proceeded to plunge the knife into Josh's back again. And a few extra times. When Josh's breathing finally ceased Danny's eyes closed ever so slightly. For such a big man he went down quite easy.
Now he had to be quick. He grunted as he flipped over Josh's body. He knew he had to do something special in this case. The knife caused a small squelching noise as Danny plunged it into Josh's abdomen. He pulled the knife downward and without much effort Josh's insides spilled outwards. Though Danny wasn't quite done. He grabbed a sticky note off of the desk along with a pen and began to write before eventually sticking it directly to Josh's forehead. It read "Happy Halloween!" and Danny chuckled as he saw it.
He stared for a moment to admire his work before cleaning off his blade with his glove and sticking the knife back in its sheath. He exited the room quickly and made his way down the hallway before hesitating ever so slightly as he walked down the stairs. "This is normal," he chuckled. "It's Halloween after all," he added. He had been a bit worried about the blood splattered on his mask. Though, no one seemed to notice. Nor care. As he made his way through the house his eye caught the guy that had been talking to his girl earlier. He knew he should've left in that moment, but he couldn't help but feel the anger slowly nip away at him.
The guy had walked outside into the backyard and Danny almost burst out laughing at the convenience of it all. His exit was through there and considering the small amount of people in the backyard he could probably get away with it.
He followed suit and made sure he thought of his plan on the go. Usually, he tried to stay away from too many impulsive decisions. They were quite risky. This was quite risky. But he hoped maybe the reward would be worth it. And it was. As he walked into the backyard he noticed that most the people had vacated. Left or had migrated to the inside of the house. It was getting a bit colder out. And darker. Which only helped to serve Danny's purpose here.
The man had gone out back to take a smoke. He had walked to the edge of the house near the gate Danny had walked through earlier. He lifted his mask above and let it sit atop his head as he moved his hand upwards to take a drag from his cigarette. Danny looked around anxiously and watched as everyone seemed too busy to notice anything. He almost didn't want to. He almost wanted to stop himself from this messy plan but it wasn't enough. The grass made a slight squelch beneath his boots as he paced quickly towards the guy. Who the fuck was he that he thought he could just put his hand on his girl like that?
As Danny approached the guy, he looked around quickly one last time before grabbing his knife from his sheath and immediately pinning the guy against the wall. His free hand had covered the guys mouth instantly. Obviously the most important thing to do. Danny quickly slid his knife across the man's throat before plunging the knife into the mans chest. He repeated the action again though with much more force and twisted it. As the man struggled to fight back Danny leaned in closer.
"Y'aknow it's a bit rude to try to get another man's girl," he stated as he continued to pin the man against the wall. He continued to hold him feeling the man's mouth move under his hand hearing his muffled cries. He stayed there until the man started to grow weak from the blood loss and Danny watched as the man's eyes started to close ever so slightly. He was gleaming under the mask. "Too bad she rejected you anyways," Danny mocked as the man's head hung to the side. In a moment of anger Danny plunged his knife into the man's stomach repeatedly before finally dropping him to the ground. He looked around again noticing no one had been looking and quickly stepped away from the body and began walking to the gate. After all it wasn't like he was the only one lying around this place. Though, instead of being drunk he was dead. And the reminder only made Danny smile as he walked away from the party.
As Danny walked out of the backyard through the gate he glanced around and before he began walking back to his car he noticed her far away. He knew he should've left but instead he began to follow her. The cold wind blew his robe a bit as he traced behind her. He didn't even have to try to be very sneaky about it. She was oblivious. Her eyes had been glued to the street before her as she swayed and stumbled a bit drunkenly. Though, to his surprise she had stopped suddenly. He paused as well and watched as she moved her head around seemingly confused. She must have been lost. He waited intently as she slowly turned around and saw him. He couldn't see her face extremely well from afar though he knew she was terrified. Before he could even begin to approach she turned back and stormed off. Instinctively, Danny had kicked into gear about to take off after her. Though, he stopped himself as he knew that it wouldn't have been a good idea. He cursed under his breath slightly. He had wanted to scare her but he wanted to at least get somewhat closer. His face fell a bit under his mask as he turned around and began to head to his car. He knew he would have to visit her soon.
