Dorian loomed over my body with a menacing look in his eyes.
"Why are you doing this?" I asked with a terrified quiver in my voice.
Dorian didn't answer...he just stared and smiled.
"Dori you're really scaring me, please answer me!" I yelled with tears in my eyes as I looked at the man that I thought was my forever.
But there was nothing left of him, whatever they did to him had changed him. He was no longer the man I fell in love with in the 11th grade. He was a monster set out to destroy whatever stood in his way...even me.
He came closer to me, his breath was ragged and there is blood dripping from the corners of his mouth.
I tried to get away, but my body was too weak...he grabbed me by my hair and pulled me to my feet.
"Please...Please Dori...please don't." I pleaded hoping that there was still a little bit of him in there somewhere.
He pulled me closer to his revolting body and sniffed me, as if seeing if I was a suitable meal. Before throwing me down again.
I guess I was good enough...just like when it came to sex.
That's when I heard a gun fire, causing Dorian to turn his head towards the door.
"Andie!" I heard Sarge yell from the hallway.
"In here!" I called back as Dorian headed out of the room. "He's headed your way...be careful!"
I didn't know if I was going to make it out of here, but I didn't want Sarge to lose his own life to protect me; so I decided to head out after the monster.
Even though I was in pain I knew that Sarge couldn't handle this on his own nor should he have to.
Dorian was my problem not his, so I was going to take care of it.
"Andie stay there!" Sarge commanded, but I didn't listen.
I painfully made my way down the hallway until I saw him...
Sarge was a lot taller than I thought he would be and his rusty red hair was a lot longer than it should have been for a military man.
"Stay away from him!" I hollered before jumping on the creatures back.
"Andie no!" Sarge yelled before Dorian grabbed me and threw me to the ground.
My body hit the ground with a painful thud, I felt my muscle tense at the sudden impact.
"Baby? Oh my god." Dorian said as he came to my side. "I'm so sorry."
"Get away from me!" I yelled as I tried to drag myself away from him.
"Ally...it's me...Dorian." He said reaching for me again.
"No...you're not."
"Andie are you okay?" Sarge asked as he held his gun to the monster's head.
"Who the fuck are you?" Dorian asked as he looked up to the much larger man.
"The person that is going to put a bullet in your head if you don't get away from her." Sarge said as he pulled the hammer back on his pistol.
"Sarge...put the gun down." I ordered as I slowly and painfully tried to get up.
"Here let me help you." Dorian offered, but I pushed him away.
He may have been acting like Dorian, but I knew better than to trust him.
Sarge grabbed my arm and carefully pulled me to my feet.
"Come on Andie, we need to find your niece and my daughter."
"I need to find my things first, that way you aren't doing everything." I said as I looked down at myself.
"We can check the storage room." Sarge said as he dragged me down the hall.
Dorian followed, but I wish he wouldn't have.
"Hey Sarge is it, how do we know we can trust you?" He asked from behind us.
"Because I am not infected, unlike you." Sarge answered with a smug smile.
"Infected? What the fuck are you talking about old man?!" Dorian asked angrily.
"We might be able to save you if we can find the cure, but you will have to learn to control it." Sarge answered affectively ignoring both of the questions.
I didn't say a word the whole way to the storage room, mostly because the men were arguing and I really didn't want to get involved.
"Ally, why are you trusting this buffoon?" Dorian asked as we stood outside the door.
"Who the fuck is Ally?" I asked confused.
"You." Dorian answered sternly.
"Dorian, I think you have me confused with someone else." I said before moving passed Sarge and into the room.
"What?!"
"Huh?" Sarge asked as Dorian shoved him to the side and went in after me and closed the door.
"Come on Allison, let's get out of here." Dorian said before grabbing my arm.
"No, I need to find Ashley."
"Forget her...she's probably zombie chow by now." Dorian said with a menacing growl.
"No, she's my family." I said pulling my arm away from him.
"I'm your fiancé, so I should matter more to you than your brother's brat."
Brother's brat?! What the fuck is his problem, insulting my family and saying that he should matter more than my niece.
He hasn't mattered to me for a while now, not after I found out about that trophy wife and what he really does when he went out for those jobs.
