I never went back to the other room last night, but then maybe it was a good thing.
I got to spend more time with my daughter and I didn't have to worry about Jesse trying to keep me in the bed.
But I knew that he would be upset about how we left things last night...but I Didn't want to hear it because it was his fault.
He should have just answered my question and I would have never left him.
Ignorance is bliss, Darling. - Jesse
"Mommy, are you still mad at daddy?" Ashley asked as she played with her stuffed animals.
"Yes, but that's his problem...not yours." I said as I picked up one of the toys she dropped on the floor. "Now I' going to go see if he's ready to go."
"I'm right here, so there's no need for that." Jesse said from the doorway behind me. "Andie...I think we should talk before we head back on the road."
"Alright...we'll be downstairs if you need us, Ashichu." I said before kissing Ashley's head. "We shouldn't be long, so go ahead and finish getting ready."
"Okay Mommy." She said as she continued to play.
Jesse and I headed out of the room, not speaking all the way to the stairs at the end of the hall.
"You know you could have told me what you want to talk to me about, so I could have thought of my responses." I said finally breaking the silence as we walked down the stairs.
"This isn't a conversation you need to respond to...just listen." He said as he lead me over to the burnt sofa. "Sit down."
"Why do you always tell me to sit down? What if I want to stay standing?"
"Because that it is just something that people say when they are about to tell someone bad news." He answered with a small sigh. "Now please sit down Andie."
"How bad can this news be? I'm already going to die during the extraction." I asked before finally sitting down on the couch.
"The cure affects you body more than you realize Andie." Jesse said as he sat down next to me. "Have you noticed anything different about your body lately?"
"Come to think about it...I haven't had a period in a month."
"Yes you have...your body just doesn't bleed anymore...the pain is your ovulating without any blood beforehand." He explained. "You're bleeding internally...and eventually you are going to bleed to death."
I just sat there and stared at him just trying to process everything he just told me...and trying not to scream.
"He must really want me dead." I finally spoke with a small laugh.
"I don't think that's what he wants at all." He said as he grabbed my hand. "I think he has another plan."
"What makes you think that?"
"Because he wants you to go back to him, so maybe he wants to - "
"That disgusting lowlife really expects me to go running back to him, so he can impregnate me?" I questioned, but I didn't really want him to answer me. "That's not going to happen...I would rather die slowly and painfully then have him anywhere near me."
"I'm not going to let either of those happen, because I know when to get you pregnant."
"What do you mean by that?" I asked as he stood up.
"I'll explain more when we get to the bunkers." He said as he walked back towards the stairs.
"Where are you going?" I asked slightly annoyed that he would just drop a bomb like that on me and then just leave.
