One month later...We finally made it to Colver, but it was too dark to go see James; so it took some convincing to get Ashley to agree to go to Jesse's cabin.
Speaking of Jesse...we have decided not to continue whatever was happening between us.
Even though I knew that it hurt him to agree, but it was the right decision for us.
"Andie..." Jesse said making me jump. "Sorry I didn't mean to scare you, I just wanted to let you know that we're here."
"Oh, I must have dozed off." I said with a small smirk.
"There's only two room, so I figured that you would take my room and Ashley can have the guest room." Jesse explained before he got out of the truck and walked around to open my door, while I woke up Ash.
"Where are you going to sleep?" I asked as I got of the truck and picked up the sleepy little girl.
"I'll take the living room that way I can protect you both." Jesse answered as he placed his hand on the small of my back.
My skin felt hot under his touch and I could feel my heart pounding in my chest.
I had never felt this feeling with anyone, not even with him when we dated before. So why was it happening now?
I needed to get away from him and clear my head.
"Well then I better get her to bed." I said before heading into the cabin.
The layout of the cabin reminded me a lot of the main cabin in a Friday the 13th sequel...all I remember is an unintentionally comedic death...if you know you know.
I headed up the stairs and headed to the left, somehow I knew that was where the guest room was.
The room was a decent size for just a spare bedroom, the walls were painted a hideous mucus green color though which made my stomach queasy.
I placed the girl down on the bed and tucked her in with her new teddy bear.
"Goodnight Ashichu." Isaid before i kissed her forehead softly.
"Goodnight Aunt Allybug." Ashley said with a sleepy smile.
I got up and headed to the door, making sure that I left it cracked open so she could see the hall light.
As I made my way acrossed the hall I looked down into the living room and saw Jesse laying on the couch.
"Goodnight Jesse." I said with a small smile.
"Goodnight Andie." Jesse said back as he looked over to me.
I walked away before he could stare too long and make my heart race again.
Upon entering the master bedroom I caught a whiff of something that turned my stomach...lavender.
Ever since I was tweleve the smell of artificial lavender has brought back memories of him.
"Ugh...fuck..." I groaned as I felt the pain again.
I was so used to it at this point that it didn't hurt so bad anymore.
I carefully made my way over to the bed with my bag in hand.
I was going to figure this out...I had to.
I sat on the bed and opened my backpack, underneath an old journal was a manila folder; everything I needed to know about the cure incubator was in there; and hopefully what it had to with me.
But before I could get to educating myself...Jesse walked in without knocking.
"How did you know that I wasn't asleep?" I asked as I placed the folder back into my bag.
