"Why couldn't stop and help that woman?" Jesse asked as we sped down the highway.

"Because she wasn't worth it." I answered dismissively.

I knew that woman and I didn't really care what happened to her or her geezer of a husband.

She was just like every other young woman that lived in that town...a gold digger.

"She is a living person Andie, of course she was worth saving." He protested with the slightest hint of shock and anger in his normally calm voice.

"Maybe her husband, but not her...not Chloe Hendrix." I said bitterly.

"Did you know her?" He asked as if it wasn't obvious that I did.

"She was one of Dorian's three trophy wives." I answered with an annoyed sigh.

"So that means that we shouldn't help her?" He asked as he looked over to her.

"Yes." I answered sternly. "That woman is nothing, but unnecessary drama."

"Don't I know the feeling." He muttered under his breath, as if I couldn't hear him.

"I heard that." I said with my arms crossed.

"You were supposed to." He said innocently. "But honestly what does her being one of Dorian's fuck buddies have to do with why we couldn't stop?"

"Chloe was his first and she thought only, she once broke into out apartment just to sniff his dirty underwear...the second time she did it she caught us sleeping in bed together and went completely ballistic, and started throwing whatever she could at me before trying to stab me with a broken lamp." I explained softly.

"Did you call the police?"

"Of course we did, I got a temporary restraining order sadly Dorian was still 'working' for her as her 'handyman'." I answered still pissed about the whole situation.

"How did it last?" Jesse asked with a small smirk...he was loving this.

"The affair or the restraining order." I asked needing clarification.

"The restraining order, the affair was probably still going on." He answered with a small laugh.

"14 days, the affair lasted for another week before her husband caught them fucking in his bed...and he may have looked eighty, but he damn sure didn't act like it." I said with a slight smirk.

He husband was a good enough man, it's just a shame that he had to marry such an ungrateful wife.

"Did you ever meet her husband?" Jesse asked softly.

"Yeah, a couple of times actually...he was quite the practical jokester, he said it kept him young." I answered with a small laugh. "His was David."

"Sounds like you spent some time with him." He said with a laugh.

"We had lunch a couple of times, he was trying to get me to drop the T.R.O...even tried paying me off."

"How much did he offer you?"

"60,000, but to me it wasn't worth it." I answered with a small sigh.

"You should have asked for more." He said with a small smirk.

"I wouldn't have taken it, even if it was 1,000,000,000 dollars...I didn't want the money."

"Why not? That could have been your way out."

"His wife could have killed me, I couldn't let her get away with that...I was thinking about my own life, besides she could keep fucking Dorian for all I cared, that money wouldn't have done nothing to change my situation...it would only make it worse."
