"Alright maggots, if you want to survive out here you are going to have to learn to work as a unit." I said as I paced in front of the women. "Or else you are going to be left behind."

"This...is...cruelty." Amber panted as she walked in place.

"Its all our fault that he is making us do this, you're so fucking lucky that he took my gear." Melissa warned painfully.

"Less talking and a little more walking ladies." I commanded sternly.

"How much longer do we have to do this Sarge, my legs are starting to hurt." She complained.

"Alright you can stop now, but this isn't over yet." I said with a smirk. "Now its time for a little target practice."

"What?"  Amber asked as if she didn't already know that this was going to happen.

"Amber, I've told you that you were going to learn to use you gun and I meant it." I said confidently. "Now you two are going to check around the cabin for Crawlers, while Johnny and I follow in the truck."

"Fine, come on Amber lets just get this over with so we can leave." Melissa said with an annoyed sigh.

"That is not the attitude that I want to see soldier."

"Sorry sir." She said softly before they walked away.

I on the other hand headed towards my truck, where Johnny was standing.

"Get in, so we can follow them." I instructed as I got into the driver's seat.

"Alright, young Justin Timberlake." Jesse said before taking his shot.

I watched intently as the bullet entered the rotting head of a woman instead of the man beside her.

"Damn it Judge Judy!" Jesse proclaimed angrily.

"Calm down, you just need to relax -"

"I'll never be able to protect our daughter if I can't aim right."

"I don't know, you're pretty good with a crowbar...maybe you are just a Malay guy and not a gun guy." I suggested calmly. "Come on lets get out of here before the smell us."

"Okay, do you want to drive for a little bit?"  He asked as he held up the keys.

"Are you sure you want me to do that after last night?" I asked curiously. "You should be making me rest, not asking if I want to drive."

"Do you need to rest?" He asked softly as he put the safety on his gun.

"No, but that's how you acted last time this happened, so I guess I figured you would do it again." I answered with a shrug.

"Well if you drive I can find the letter for you." He said before tossing me the keys and headed to the passenger side door.

"Alright, but if I start to feel weak or whatever you are going to need to take over." I said before heading to the driver's side.

"Will do." He said with a small smile.

I shook my head before getting into the truck and closed the door.

"What's going on?" Ashley asked from the backseat.

"I was just trying to teach your daddy something, but it didn't go so well." I answered with a small pout.

"I'm sorry daddy." She said as she hugged him over the seat.

"Its okay sweetie." He said as he grabbed her arms gently.

Her calling him daddy still had a weird effect on me, but I knew that I shouldn't be upset about it because he was her real father...maybe it was because she stopped calling me anything.
