"Any luck in there?" I asked from the black leather sofa.

"Yeah, even got a tequila chaser if you need it." Johnny answered as he walked back in carrying two beers and a bottle of Blanco tequila.

"What kind of beer are we talk about here?" I asked as I grabbed the bottles from him.

"Irish stout I think, it was kind of dark back there." He answered before he sat down next to me on the couch.

"Its a Guinness you putz." I said with a small laugh before taking a swig of the dark Irish brew.

"Hey I'm only twenty...I shouldn't even be drinking this with you."

"Fuck the law John boy, we are in the middle of what could well be the last days of our lives might as well be drunk." I said raising my bottle for a toast.

"I figured you would be against getting drunk when we have a mission to complete." Johnny said as he took a sip of his own drink.

"Normally I would be, but this isn't a normal mission son; this is us against the government and the monsters they created." I said before taking a longer drink.

"What kind of monsters are we talking about?" He asked before drinking his own beer. "The crawlers seem mostly harmless as long as you stay out of their reach."

"They aren't the ones we need to worry about, but I don't think that they spread out of the lab."

"What are you talking about Sarge?"

"There are other creature's, far more dangerous than the crawlers." I said as I poured out a cap full of tequila. "They're the real bioweapon, the ones that we should really be afraid of."

"Then maybe you should tell me what they are." He said before taking a shot from the bottle.

"Berserkers, they are bigger and faster than crawlers and can make you trust them...based on experience, they evolve too, but I haven't seen what they turn into." I explained before taking another cap full.

"Well then I guess its a good thing they haven't spread like the crawlers." He said with a small smirk.

"That we know of."

"Why didn't you tell us about them before?"

"I forgot about them until now, I had more pressing matters on my mind at the time." I said answered with a shrug.

"Do you know how many there were?'

"Just two that I know of." I said before finishing  off my beer. "Finish your drink and go to sleep, we have a full day of travel ahead of us."

"So you're not worried about them?"

"No, because like I said they aren't spreading like the crawlers...I think."

"What if they are?" He asked as if trying to make me worry about the creatures.

"Then we would have ran into one of them already." I said as I laid back down on the couch.

"And you're sure that there were only two?"

"No, but I only know of two...one was a civilian and Andie's fiancé, she killed him before he changed completely...and the other was one of my soldiers, unfortunately I don't know what happened to him."

"So he could have escaped and attacked innocent people?"

"Probably, but there is no way that he got that far out of D.C."

"How do you know that?" He asked as he got up from the sofa and sat on the coffee table again.

"Because I doubt that they remember how to drive." I said with a small laugh. "He would have one hell of a hike ahead of him."
