Two days later...we were back on the road again...cue Willie Nelson...we had a blissful couple of nights, but something was eating away at me.

Where was their mother? And how did she know that thisbwas happening? Was she the one that killed Johana?

"Hey Sarge can you turn on the radio or something I need some background noise?" Johnny asked next to me.

"No sorry John, but I need to be able to hear Lilly and Timmy." I answered as I looked through the review mirror. "Here...why don't you check and see if we can talk to Andie."

"Andie? As in the Andie?" Johnny asked sounding like an idiot.

"Yes...and make sure you turn it on." I said chasing to ignore his comment.

"What kind of walkie talkie is this?" Johnny asked looking over the communication device in his hand.

"Its from World War 2...careful with that." I said as Johnny played with the slightly bent antenna.

"Sorry Sarge..." Johnny said before turning the knob on top of it.

"Just be careful that thing is older than both of us." I said with a small frown.

"He's never been known to treat antiques with respect...our mom had this old china hutch filled with priceless crystal and my idiot brother here thought it would make a good jungle gym, and long story short he broke everything and she was so pissed." Melissa said with a sinister smirk.

"You were the one who told me it would be okay." Johnny argued back like a small child.

"How old were you when it happened?" I asked willing to defend him.

"Melissa was like eight and I was maybe four." Johnny answered before finally trying the walkie talkie. "Andie are you there."

Static...

"Try again." I instructed as I watched the road.

"Andie...please answer."

Static...

"Damn it..." I exclaimed under my breath.

"She must be on the move again." Amber said from her post.

"Probably...we're going to make a stop in Colver." I said remembering that Andie said she was at her family's house there.

"Why is that Sarge?" Melissa asked as she played with Lilly-Bella in her basket.

"I need to check something out." I answered simply.

"Is that where the ranch is?" Johnny asked with a knowing smirk.

"Yeah, that's where she was when I got a hold of her last." I answered before swerving over to the side of the road to hit a crawler that was coming out of the thick woods.

"Why did you do that?" Melissa asked sternly.

"I was trying to make sure that Amber is safe back there." I answered with a smirk. "Since she insist on using that bat instead of the handgun we gave her."

"I don't trust guns." Amber said from behind us.

"Well I don't trust you with a gun, but its a lot safer than that bat." Melissa said with a polite smile. "I don't want to have to cover your ass the whole time."

"Nobody said you had too Melissa, I can take care of myself." Amber said defensively.

"Yeah and look where that got you"

"What is that supposed to mean?"

"You know damn well what I am talking about Amber." Melissa said raising her voice slightly.
