44: How to fake a wedding

(Brief recap:

A larger group of clones wandered around the table, then jumped back into the glass. The two remaining water clones were standing in front of Madara - it seemed they were having a conversation with him.

"I think I found Hashirama's secret sake in the office," one of them said.

Madara replied, "Hmm, good. We should confiscate it immediately."

"Yeah. I'm pretty sure it's under the -" the second one started, until Hashirama slammed his fist onto it.

He laughed nervously, "What do you mean, secret sake?! I don't have any hidden anywhere!!"

At this point, Tobirama released the last water clone. There were tiny water droplets on the table from where the clones had disappeared; still, most of the water was still in the glass.

Tobirama and Madara both gave Hashirama a look.

"Brother, everyone knows that you do."

Risa then came over and set their food on the table. "I hope you enjoy, let me know if you n-need anything!!" They thanked her again, and she returned to the kitchen to escape for a minute.

As everyone else ate, Mito finally spoke up.

"Now that you all shut up, I wanted to discuss this damn meeting," she said. Once she was sure that she had all of their attention, she continued, "Obviously, you two have a thing for each other, or maybe it's one-sided and the Uchiha's jealous, I don't know, and I don't really give a damn. Whatever the case, this isn't gonna work out, but I can't get out of it. So if you want a solution, start suggesting something."

Hashirama looked at Madara and said, "Mada, did you tell her to back off in your Tsukuyomi or something?"

Madara blushed slightly and said, "That is irrelevant. Anyway, focus on the task at hand - this is your mess to deal with, after all."

"Pfft, you're just trying to distract me," Hashirama smiled, putting an arm around the Uchiha and whispering in his ear, "But that's alright. I'll get the answer out of you later."

Tobirama flicked some rice at his brother and said, "Pay attention and no PDA, I'll throw up."

"Aww, you're no fun. . . Fine." He kept his arm around Madara, but he shifted his attention to Mito. He said seriously, "I know you can't do much about this, but we're out of ideas. Right now, there's only one option - they agreed to settle for my brother."

Tobirama voiced, "Wait a second, since when did I agree to this?"

"Hey, same here! I don't want to get married at all, that's the whole point!"

Madara suggested, "Well, neither of you have to worry too much about making public appearances, unlike Hashirama, correct? If you did marry each other, you would only have to pretend to be married to the public. Aside from that, you could do whatever you wanted. . . Or you could fake the ceremony, but that would not help much."
