48: Tobitrauma: origin

(Recap:

Madara helped Hashirama clean up; just as Tobirama was about to help, Mito, who was still seated, grabbed his sleeve.

"Hey, not that I care, but. . . Are you okay?"

Tobirama looked down at her and said, gentler than he intended, "Don't worry, I've been dealing with these idiots for years. I'm fine."

"Sorry, but I'm not buying it. Hey. . . Why don't we get out of here?"

Tobirama gave her a suspicious glance and said, "You want to be alone with me? That could only mean one of two things: you're plotting to kill me or. . . Ugh, I can't even bring myself to say it. . ."

"What?" Mito asked, smirking.

"Whatever, it doesn't matter. And fine, I'll go, but not because I want to. I just don't want to deal with this mess."

"Fair enough. Let's go, then."

Among the chaos, Hashirama and Madara didn't even notice the two of them leave.

As the two of them walked out of Risa's, Mito yawned and stretched.

"Phew. . . Are those two always that obnoxious?"

"Unfortunately," Tobirama grumbled.

"Damn, it's too bad that I'm gonna have to stick around. . . Because of the marriage shit, you know," Mito sighed, frustrated.

"Well, we're both fools for agreeing to it."

"Yeah, I guess. . . Not like we really had any other choice, though."

They fell silent and kept walking. Neither of them had a particular destination in mind - they just wanted to get away from Risa's as soon as possible.

"So," Mito broke the silence, "Um. . . Like I said, not that I care, but I can't help but bring it up again - are you actually okay? You seemed pretty freaked out for a second there. . ."

"Pfft, right back at you Miss I'm-Too-Weak-To-Handle-a-Genjutsu," Tobirama laughed.

Mito punched him and yelled, "Hey, what the hell, if you were in my position, you'd understand!!! Now answer the damn question!!!"

"I'd say Madara hates us equally, so I'm sure I've faced his wrath just as much as you have," Tobirama argued. "Besides, I've broken his genjutsu before."

He thought back to when he and Madara were working on the Reanimation jutsu together. At one point, Madara had enough and put the Senju under a genjutsu; as horrible as it was, Tobirama managed to break it because of his talents at chakra control.

"How the fuck did you manage to do that?!?!"

"Well first, you can't be weak-willed, and second, you have to master chakra control."

"That's it? Pfft, that's easy!!!"

"Is it now? Then why didn't you break it?"

"Well how the hell was I supposed to know it was that easy?!??? If I knew that, I would've broken it right away!!"
