BUCKY HAD BEEN DISTANT THE PAST WEEK. IT HAD STARTED WHEN HE WAS AMBUSHED IN THE PARK BY HYDRA AGENTS. He allowed june to patch him up since he got away but after he was just ignoring her. He didn't sleep beside her and didn't talk to her
June thought she had done something to make him act that way so since then she had been awfully quiet, trying to figure out what she did wrong, which the avengers caught onto. They assured her that she didn't do anything but she couldn't help but think it
It wasn't until Bucky saw her sitting on the dining table in silence with her eyebrows furrowed that he started to speak to her again. He walked through the room, the avengers were sitting on the couch watching something and June was looking at the television from the table she was sitting in yet he could tell she wasn't fully watching it
"June" her head snapped up to him, eyes slightly wide that he had said something to he "We have to talk" she knew something was wrong, so she cautiously stood up and walked over placing her hand on his bicep, but it confused her when he shrugged it off
"What's wrong?" She said ignoring the hurt that flowed through her
"I... I'm sorry" she tilted her head confused
"For what James?"
"It just happened.. I guess what I'm trying to say is, I cheated on you" the avengers in the rooms eyes widened and turned. They had pretended to be watching the tv once Bucky walked in but they were secretly listening in
"You what?" Thor said standing up angrily. Steve quickly followed and held Thor back from doing anything. Thor thought of June as his little sister. And just hearing what Bucky had done made him livid
"W-what?" She could feel the tears gathering in her eyes and she started playing with her hands. She couldn't believe it
"It wasn't my intention to hurt you. But it happened" her lip trembled as she looked down at the ground. She was angry at him. How could he just throw what they had away. He had told her on many occasions he loved her, that he wouldn't do anything to hurt her. But it was all a lie
"I don't know- I don't... was she good?" Bucky, as well as everyone else, was stunned by the question
Bucky looked down at her, seeing how broken she looked but he knew this was for the best
"She was... different"
"You want to be with h-her?" Bucky knew that if he said no, there was a small possibility they could work this out, so he had to lie
"Yes"
"What about everything you said to me buck? How you would always be by my side. How you love me" it hurt Bucky to even be saying it and he had to physically force himself to answer it
