COMING BACK FROM A CASE THAT TOOK AN AWFUL TURN was never good. The one I had today I failed to save a 6 year old girl after it took me too long to find the wesen killing people

It made me feel like shit honestly. The fact that I wasn't good enough to capture the guy was terrible

And i know deaths are inevitable, but maybe if I had figured it out quicker.. less people would've died

I walked through the station and without even processing I had ended up in front of seans office, my hand instintively coming up to knock

By the time I had registered what I had done I had already heard Sean's calling

"Come in" I opened the door, his eyes immediately meeting mine but I quickly looked away, my eyes finding the floor

He was already standing, probably having just finished a phone call since I always noticed he like to take his calls standing up

"I heard about your case" he spoke. I didn't look up too worried that if I did then I would start crying
"Athena, baby" he whispered. He walked over to me and shut the door behind me before bringing me into a hug

I let out a deep breath and felt myself being picked up by him and I ended up with my legs wrapped around his waist

Thankfully Sean enjoyed his privacy even when he's alone so the blinds were ready down so nobody could see us

He walked back over to his desk and sat down, his hand moving to rub my back

"Talk to me baby" he muttered

"I couldn't save her"

"No-"

"I couldn't save that innocent girl. She was just a child" sean leaned back against his chair and placed his hands on either side of my face, making me look down at him

"You can't save everyone"

"But she didn't deserve this" his thumb moved under my eye to wipe my tears

"No one ever does. But you've helped so many people and sometimes, you just can't save them all. And that's okay" His stare was intense and his words did make me feel a lot better. He always did

"Thank you" I whispered and sean nodded leaning forward to give me a light kiss on my cheek then my lips

"Come on, our shifts over. Let's go home"
