THE AVENGERS REALISED ANASTASIA WAS DIFFERENT WHEN THEY OFFERED HER A SPOT ON THE AVENGERS TEAM. WELL FIRST OF ALL a person with powers would jump at the chance to become one of them. But with Anastasia she didn't seem that fond of it. She was reluctant, worried, and asking questions usual 17 year olds don't ask. About finance, insurance and all
She agreed eventually and became an avenger, one out of the public eye, and lived with them all
The second thing they realised was she liked to be alone. She was more like Bruce or Loki on the team, where she would rather be locked in her room with a book. But she seemed the most introverted out of them all. It worried them and they tried to include her in as many things as possible. They would usually get a turn down, though she was really nice about it, but they couldn't help but want her down there with them
Natasha was the one that realised she never spoke about her family. The few times she would join them; playing games, eating together or watching movies; she never spoke about who she lived with. Anastasia would listen as they all spoke about their family's or their pasts but she never pitched in her own stories
She opened up eventually in her own way. She stayed downstairs more often and read a book there. It was hard to notice but it showed she was warming up to them
They came to think of her as a sibling, or a child to Tony. He was the most protective of her. The guy that didn't say he loved someone but showed it. He made sure she was safe at all times. He made sure he got her something when he went out shopping, he loved the look on her face when she did, the first time he would never forget
She held the necklace he brought her close to her chest as she looked up at him with teary eyes. His heart ached at the sight and he blinked away his own tears questioning what was wrong. But she just sniffled and brought him into the tightest hug she could
And before she knew it she was crying into his shoulder. He stiffened once he heard the noise before he hugged her back with a similar amount of pressure
She eventually pulled away and rushed out of the room embarrassed but once she got back to her room she placed the neckace around her neck. She didn't keep touching it, she just wanted to look it at, cherish it. It meant a lot more than anyone realised
The last thing they all caught onto was the fact that she liked being close to them. She would have a small frown on her face, most likely without realising, but when someone took a seat beside her or showed some sort of small affection it seemed she was calmer
That was when they knew she really liked being around them. No matter how much she concealed it, she loved them.
But it made them wonder. What caused Anastasia to be this way?
