IT WAS THE NIGHT OF THE ANNOUNCEMENT WHERE DAN WAS ANNOUNCING HE WAS THE AUTHOR OF a new book called 'inside' that had been published a few weeks ago. Most of the upper east side had read about it for some gossip and everyone wanted to know who it was by
As it was Dan's book he had told Anita to read it mentioning some of it was about her. So she did, happy and wanting to support him.
Her mouth was agape as she walked the streets, reading the book, to where Dan said he would be tonight. She was a quick reader so she figured if she started the book a few hours before she would have read it in time and she had just finished
When she got to the place, she had just finished the book and once she opened the doors those in the room turned to her
There was over 50 people in there, each one turning to her and she felt uncomfortable for a second. She knew why. Everyone knew she was a specific person in the book Dan wrote.
Antia. That was the name of the girl in dans book that he's been in love with since grade school. She found it kind of funny he only switched around a few letters of her name but she'll admit she kind of liked appearing in his book
She just wished Dan had spoke to her about how he felt. She had always been in love with him since they met. And if Dan had just voiced on how he felt it could've saved them both horrible exes and more time together. But then again anita didn't share her feelings to him either.
She just thought Dan didn't like her in that way- and she was okay with that. Even though her friend group wasn't. Blair and serena- hell. Even Nathan and Chuck had been trying to convince her but she didn't want to risk it
But now she knew how he felt
Swallowing her nervousness her eyes caught dans who was iin the middle of the room. His eyes were worried for what she would think about the whole thing
His family was there, his friends were there and they were all about to see him get rejected by the girl he's in love with
"Why didn't you ever tell me?" She spoke slowly walking towards him. She was too anxious to even think about everyone else in the room
"We're friends.. I thought that was all you wanted between us" he answered ignoring the fact the place was silent and they were having a conversation in front of everyone
"Dan.. this is a big thing you didn't tell me"
"I know"
"And next time. Don't think for me" said once she had come to a stop in front of him. He didn't understand what she was on about and she realised by the look on her face so taking a deep breath she took his face in her hands and pressed his lips onto hers
Dan was stunned, not moving for a moment before he kissed her back, his hand moving up to the side of her face
She smiled into the kiss, feeling her stomach erupt in butterflies finally having this moment with Dan she's dreamed about for ages but they were both pulled out of their moment when the room erupted into claps and cheers
They pulled away and Anita looked around anxiously
"I.. I think I-" he nodded understanding she didn't like to be in the spotlight. That's what made the moment so much better for him. Knowing she pushed past her anxiety just for him
"Go" he smiled "I'll find you later" she nodded and he pressed his lips to her cheek before she walked off out of the room, serena and Blair behind her who were buzzing with exitement
