Hiccup's P.o.v.

We walked in silence until we finally reached Jack's house. Curious, I looked around. It wasn't very big but still looked very cozy. Jack unlocked the door and held it open for me. I smiled and nodded as I entered the house. I looked around again. In the inside it looked way more modern that from the outside but at the same time kind of... empty.

"Please take your shoes of here.", Jack said, smiling at me as he slipped out of his shoes and let them lie around randomly and walked in the kitchen. I shyly took off my shoes and placed them neatly next to Jacks. I bit my lip and looked around. Since Jack wasn't able to see me from there, I took his shoes and placed them beside mine neatly. No, I'm not a clean freak.

Quietly, I walked with my bag on my back to Jack in the kitchen.

"Would you like something to drink Hiccup? And does your head still hurt, or has it become better?", Jack asked me and smiled at me while he grabbed a glass. It really was a long time since someone had asked me that. Although it was just a very simple question.

"Uh sure. And my head is better now too."

"Okay." Jack smiled softly. "What would you want to drink? I haven't got much ... I think.", Jack said and opened the fridge. "I have water, Coke and..." He put his head further in the fridge. "Cheese." Jack laughed.

I giggled. "Coke please." Or should I perhaps better said water...? I mean coke is expensive and I don't want to make Jack any trouble. "I mean, if it's okay..."

"Of course that's okay." Jack laughed and pulled out a bottle of Coke from the fridge and closed the door. After that he put two glasses on the table.

"Sit down.", Jack said and smiled softly while he filled them.

I nodded shyly and put my bag on the floor and sat down at the table. It was so quiet here. Where are his parents...? Confused, I looked around. It also didn't look like there were any signs that someone else than Jack would live here.

"You probably wonder why everything here looks so empty right?", asked Jack and sat down in front of me.

"I eh... no... I..." I blushed and looked down at my glass. Maybe that was a sensitive subject for Jack. Perhaps something happened to his family...?

"It's okay." Jack chuckled softly. "The whole house here just looks so empty because I don't have any parents. My parents took me and my little sister in a home for children when we were very young. Just about babies. And well... my little sister... One day she was adopted. I haven't seen her since. This house here doesn't even belong to me. It's from a good friend of mine who is almost something like a father figure for me.", Jack said and smiled sadly.

"Oh Jack... I didn't know..." I bit my lip and looked up at him. He stared into his Coke and looked a bit lost in thought.

He shook his head and smiled at me. "It's okay. I'm used to it and if they didn't want me it's not my problem. They sure had their reasons." He took a long sip from his coke. I nodded and was just about to drink a bit too but I accidentally moved my arm against the glass and let it fall to the ground where the glass shattered into pieces.

I gasped and stared at the pieces. Jack laughed softly. "Don't worry. It's okay. Could have happened to me too."

Before Jack could even get up, I got on the ground and collected the broken pieces in my hand.

"Hiccup, just let it be. You could only cut yourself on it.", Jack said worried and knelt down beside me and took the pieces out of my hand.

"B-But...", I stammered.
