A/N Alright, here we go... I am super excited to be sharing this story, so please tell me what you think about it. This starts in the third episode of the first season, just so you guys are not confused.
Celia Velázquez stepped through the portal into her apartment in New York, a bag in her hand, her two swords in their sheath crisscrossed on her back. Izzy had called her the day before.
>Earlier<
Celia had been sitting in the common room in the Special Forces headquarters with a few of the other members. It had been one of those rare moments in which they had nothing to do while on duty. The only one still working was Álvaro, their commander, who was filling out reports. The others were either reading or scrolling through their phones. Salomé had been busy all day taking out her box braids and brushing through her hair.
When Celia's phone was vibrating in her hand and showed a call from Izzy, she was mainly surprised, as she had not expected to hear from her.
"Hey Celia... It's really crazy here at the moment, could you come back anytime soon?"
"That depends on what is happening... You know that the times when we could do missions together all day long are kind of over."
"I know, but I think you'll want to be here for that. We found this girl – Clary Fairchild - she's a Shadowhunter, but she lost all her memories about the Shadowworld. Her mother, Jocelyn Fairchild, got kidnapped by Circle members. To make some sense out of it, we took her to the Silent Brothers..."
"Let me guess, that was Jace's idea?", Celia put the phone on speaker and laid it down on the table in front of her. This sounded like her colleagues would be interested in it. Even though for now, they looked rather annoyed that something was disturbing their free time.
"Yes...", Izzy had been thrown off track by Celia's question, "yes, it was his idea. Anyways, the Silent Brothers couldn't recover her memories, but it turns out that she is Valentine's daughter."
"She is what now?", Salomé blurted the question out, which earned her a stern look from Álvaro. Celia froze in place. Izzy sounded confused:
"Who was that?"
Celia took a deep breath as she watched all kinds of emotions appear on the other's faces: disbelief, alarm, hatred.
"One of my colleagues is sitting next to me...", more like five of them. Celia did not say that out loud on purpose. She would have shared this information with her colleagues one way or another, "you know how well we can hear. Anyhow, I really hope that this is some bad joke..."
Izzy cut her off:
"No, it's not, Celia... She is Valentine's daughter and Circle members who were searching for the Mortal Cup – that's how her mother got kidnapped."
Celia had to process that for a second. The Circle is active, Valentine is alive and he has a daughter? Who showed up out of nowhere at the New York Institute?
"I will see how fast I can come back, okay?", Celia looked up at Álvaro, who was shaking his head already, "I'll text you about it later."
Celia hung up the phone, before Izzy could answer and was immediately hit by a storm of arguments:
"You can't go to New York, Celia!", Benicio did not even seem to care that he was nearly yelling at her.
"If Valentine is active, you should stay here...", Salomé's voice was calm, but she was still worried.
