"Celia!", Izzy was the first person to come into Celia's office the next day, "do you wanna come join me and Clary on a trip to the Citadel? We want to research the Soulsword."
Celia raised an eyebrow:
"Why are you even asking? You know that I can't enter the Citadel with my demonic blood.""Mmh... Pity..."
Another Shadowhunter appeared behind Izzy:
"Señorita? There is someone here for you. A certain Silas Henson."
Celia frowned. She had not expected to hear from this man again.
"Send him in. Izzy, have fun at the Citadel", Celia smiled. She knew precisely how much this must mean to Izzy. When she was younger she had always wanted to be an Iron Sister.Silas Henson entered with a young woman behind him. It was his sister, Cynthia.
Celia gestured for the two of them to sit down in front of the desk:
"I hope you are doing better than the last time we met?", she asked Silas, a neutral smile on her face.
He nodded:
"Yes, Your Highness, thank you."
Celia grimaced slightly at the title:
"Please, Señorita will do for the honorifics.", Silas looked ashamed of his mistake, but Celia decided to simply move on, "to what do I owe this meeting?"
"Well...", Silas immediately paused after the first word and looked over to his sister, who gave him a reassuring nod, "well, the thing is, I know that after what happened... I have the option of transferring into the hybrid society. And I would like to do that."
Celia tried to keep her expression steady. This was a rather rare case, as most Shadowhunters considered the hybrid society beneath their own.
"You are aware that you will count as a new family and start at the bottom of this food chain?"
Silas nodded.
"And you thought this through?"
He nodded once more:
"I have really been debating this since I was capable of doing so after what had happened."
Celia knew what he meant by this. In the first days of a transition, especially a forced one, people were not really capable of pondering difficult questions. Celia took a deep breath:
"In that case, I'll have to do some paperwork. And I hate few things more than that – even though I need to do it quite often.", she added the last sentence with a smirk, "let's get this started then."
Celia pressed her wrist on the small panel next to her computer. The documents she had to access were only available to members of the royal family.
"May I ask what the dear parents are saying about this?", Celia asked.
The siblings exchanged a look, before Cynthia answered:
"They are not too amused..."
"Actually", Silas interrupted his sister, "I wanted to ask if my sister could be integrated as well. Our parents threatened to throw us both out if we go through with this, so if my sister could join me -"
"Silas!", now it was Cynthia's turn to interrupt. She seemed genuinely startled by what her brother had just said. Celia started to get the impression that he had developed this part of the plan on his own.
"Technically that is possible, especially since I am assuming you", Celia nodded towards Cynthia, "have the immunity gene as well. That would have to be tested though. And in the end – as with your brother – it depends on what you want."
