Loki reacts to you flinching in an argument

It was very late at night and you had just come home.
'Darling your finally home you were gone for hours! Why do you have to work so much at the moment?' Loki says hugging you.

'I'm really sorry Loki it's only for a little while till I graduate law school and I still have to my normal hours of work. Im working on a new suit at the moment and I need some things done for Tony.' You reply. You had always wanted to become a lawyer but this whole superhero thing took up a lot of your time, Loki obviously encouraged you and you told him for a little while it would mean you would be more busy.

'Why do you have to do so much work I know you want to but can't you be here with me. Stark can sort things out and there are other avengers you don't always need to be the one saving people.' Loki says annoyed sitting down on the couch.

'I'm sorry baby sometimes my powers are needed more and sometimes they aren't, it's only for a little while longer I promise I just have lots of work to do.' You say as you start to put some books away.

'Your spending so much time on your work and barley any with me it's like I don't even matter anymore.' Loki says raising his voice as he spoke.

'I'm really sorry, I have the sports finals I'm in, school and graduating, work, training, government issues all while trying to control my powers it's a lot right now ok?' You say going to give Loki a hug.

'Can we please watch some tv?' Loki asks softly.

'Oh darling I am so sorry I need to make a call about an upcoming mission soon but maybe after. I might be too tired though.' Loki always encouraged you to follow your dreams, from playing competitive sport to law school but it did take up a lot of your time the past month or so. After the next 3 weeks you won't be as busy but you can understand how Loki is upset.
'I'm really sorry Loki I understand I want to spend more time with you too but this is important to me.'

'I GET IT! ITS IMPORTANT, I KNOW! Why do you always have to be the hero! Saving people the most important avenger. Can't ever not be leading a mission! But you still are trying to keep up your old life. That's not how being an avenger works! I get that it's important BUT I AM TOO!' Loki shouts frustrated.

'I-I I'm sorry Loki Ofc your important your the most important thing in my life please understand that.' You say shocked by his outburst.

'BUT IM NOT! YOUR SPENDING SO MUCH TIME WORKING ON ALL THESE THINGS FOLLOWING YOUR DREAMS. BUT YOU CANT POSSIBLY DO EVERYTHING AT ONCE. WHAT IF YOU FAIL, WHAT IFNIT DOESNT WORK OUT WAS IT ALL FOR NOTHING THEN? WHY CANT YOU SPEND MORE TIME WITH ME! I'D GIVE UP ANYTHING FOR YOU! I HAVE! I GAVE UP MY LIFE ON ASGARD TO BE AN AVENGER YET YOU STILL HAVE TO DO EVERYTHING!WHY CANT YOU SPEND MORE TIME WITH ME YOUR SO BUSY ALL THE TIME ITS LIKE I DONT MATTER ANYMORE!'  Loki yells.

'Please, I-I trying really hard im sorry it's a lot right now it will be done soon I'm sorry please. I love you so much l-Loki.' You say about to cry.

'DONT YOU START CRYING SAYING HOW HARD IT IS. I GAVE UP SO MUCH YET YOU JUST CANT GIVE UP ANYTHING TO SPEND TIME WITH ME! YOUR AN AVENGER THIS ISNT HOW LIFE WORKS YOU CANT HAVE BOTH. IM YOUR BOYFRIEND YOU HAVE NO TIME LEFT TO DO ANYTHING WITH ME AND YOU ARENT EVEN TRYING TO CHANGE THAT! YOU SAY YOU WILL BE DONE SOON BUT SOMETHING WILL COME UP. WHAT IS WRONG WITH YOU! YOUR SPENDING SO MUCH TIME ON WORK FOR MISSIONS THAT YOU COULD END UP YOURSELF ON I DONT WANT TO WATCH YOU DIE TRYING TO BE THE HERO WHILE YOUR STILL TRYING TO PICK UP THE PEICES OF YOUR OLD LIFE WHILE LEAVING ME BEHIND!' Loki yells, your about to cry so turn to go out the door to breathe and Loki sees this.  He started to panic thinking he scared you away and you were going to leave him for good.

Loki ran up to you and tried to use his arm to block the door. You couldn't really see but all you saw was Lokis arm darting towards you. You quickly stepped back and used your arm to cover your face.

Loki stopped suddenly and dropped his arms terrified you were now scared of him too. Loki knew you had an abusive childhood and has never yelled at you before knowing how triggering it is for you. He realised what he had done as you started to cry and tried to hurry past Loki back to your room you shared with him and he hurried after you. You left the door open and sat away from him on the other side of the bed. Loki stood there for a second and slowly walked up with his hands up. You looked at him with tears in your eyes.
Loki patiently waited there till you took his hands and motioned for Loki to sit.

'May I?' Loki asks softly. And you nod as he gently kisses your cheek and slowly places his hands on your hips. You quickly snuggle up into his chest which reassures him.

'Darling I would never hurt you. Ever. I love you more than anything I'm truely sorry.'
Loki whispers.

'I-Im sorry, I didn't mean to flinch I will I'll try better I promise I don't know what's wrong with me. I-I'll drop the competitions and I'll go on less missions I promise. I'm really sorry Loki.' You blurt out quickly.

'No, no, no, hey shhh don't you dare have to apologise it's not your fault it is mine. I do not want you to quit anything for me ok? I understand it will be over in 3 weeks and I love you so much I can wait for however long it takes. I'm so extremely sorry I was in a bad mood and I should never of said those things. Nothing is wrong with you this wasn't your fault. Don't apologise for anything at all.' Loki says softly pulling you close.
