Dong Hua and Fengjiu had just defeated Miao Luo, and were both gasping from the fight. Fengjiu coughed up blood. She had never felt this much pain in her life.
Dong Hua pulled her into his arms as she laid limp. "Is it very painful Xiao Bai?" he asked, with a fearful expression on his face.
"Not painful," Fengjiu lied, and then coughed again. "It wasn't easy to get back to you. How could I be in pain?"
"You shouldn't have come here Xiao Bai," he told her and looked at her sadly. He stroked the side of her head and looked at her beautiful, but deathly pale face.
"Did you create the Star Light Enchanted Barrier so you could take Miao Luo to the Profound Philosophy Abyss with you when you perish?" she asked. When he looked away from her, she continued with a slight smile. "Although I am not a genius, after loving you for so long, I know you quite well."
"How can I send you out?" he asked. He felt so desperate to get her safely out of the barrier, but he knew he didn't have the magic to do it.
"Why would you send me out? Was it because I broke your heart before? You also broke my heart. We are even, okay?" she replied. Fengjiu noticed that she was having a hard time breathing, and everything was becoming more painful, but she was determined not to show it on her face. "I want to accompany you. You also want me to keep you company, right?"
"You said it right. I indeed wanted you to come. No matter where I go, I want to take you with me. Even in death, I don't want to be separated from you," he admitted sadly. "But we can't do this Xiao Bai. You still have a long life ahead of you."

Fengjiu felt herself about to cough up more blood and tried to hold in it. Her chest was on fire. "Although you don't want to take me with you, I fear I might be leaving first."
Dong Hua felt a deep panic and quickly took her hand in his and felt her pulse, then he knew that she really was dying. She had been lying about being in pain.
Fengjiu gasped for breath and felt a deeply unbearable pain. She couldn't help the next words that came out of her mouth. "Dong Hua...I'm in so much pain."
Dong Hua almost yelled out when she said that. He clasped his hands to her. Then she asked, "Can you say something nice?"
"What do you want to hear?" Dong Hua asked. He would tell her anything to make her feel better.
"Say...that you like me," Fengjiu answered with a soft smile. She thought to herself, 'If I know he cares for me...I can die peacefully.'
Dong Hua pulled her into his arms softly and felt a tear go down his face. She had asked for the easiest thing in the world. He had wanted to say it for a long time, but wasn't sure about her reaction. He admitted for the first time, "I love you."
