Dong Hua was sitting outside his palace and fishing with his eyes closed. He heard the sound of his servant running towards him. "Dijun! Dijun!" Chong Lin shouted.

He sighed at the disturbance to his peace, but kept his eyes closed. "You are usually calm. Why are you so panicked today?"

"Dijun," Chong Lin said, "I have news about Meng Hao."

In response to hearing that name, he dropped his fishing rod. Then he opened his eyes. "I was unable to find him for so many years." He picked up the rod up, trying to keep his calm demeanor. "Where did he seclude himself?"

"White River Mountain," Chong Lin replied.

Dong Hua turned around to look at him. "The White River Mountain in the Demon Tribe's Southern Wilderness?"

"Yes," Chong Lin answered.

Dong Hua put down his fishing rod. He ordered Chong Lin, "Stay here. I'll be back."

He then materialized at White River Mountain. The icy mountain was covered in snow, ice and lava. He wondered, 'Why is he here? Was I wrong and he was held hostage this whole time?' At the thought of this he summoned his sword in his hands.

When he used his magic to find living life forms. He detected the one person he was looking for. He materialized inside at his location. "Come out."

When Dong Hua got no response he used his magic to strike at the water causing the dragon to fly up. He knew it was Meng Hao. He held out his sword. "Do you not recognize my sword anymore?"

The dragon growled and then transformed back into human form. Dong Hua saw that he had ancient chains on his body.

Meng Hao then bowed. He said, "I, Meng Hao, respectfully greet Dijun."

"You may rise," Dong Hua told him. He rose up from the ground but remained on his knees. "Why did you end up in this state?"

"Informing Dijun, the former Demon Lord Chi used his queen to bait me and trick me to trap me here in White River Mountain. They used the Dragon-Catching Lock, pierced it into my dragon bones, and sealed my magic power. For months and then years, I was left to guard the hollong tree in the middle of the pond. " Meng Hao explained.

Dong Hua was confused, 'How did he allow this to happen? I have seen how powerful Meng Hao is...' He replied out loud, "With your power, I don't believe it."

Meng Hao looked at the ground. "Love is a thing that can enter your bones and then get into your marrow. My cultivation was lacking, and I was unable to pass through my love trial." Then he looked up at Dijun. "Getting trapped here was my own free will."

Dong Hua looked at him stunned. "Own free will? Why?"

"I fell into the Demon Tribe's temptation, and am ashamed to face you." He replied with no expression on his face. "I'm willing to go through my trial here and pay for my mistake."

Dong Hua sighed. "If I cared about that, I wouldn't have come here."

Meng Hao bowed deeply and put his head on the icy ground. "May Dijun allow it!"

Dong Hua was confused. He had no idea why his old general wished to live this way. "Do you have something you can't bear to part with here?"

Meng Hao rose from the ground. "I dare not lie to you, Dijun. I do indeed have something I can't part with."

"Is it worth it?" Dong Hua asked. He thought to himself, 'He is wasting his life here...what is it that he can't let go of?'

Meng Hao then looked at him with a look that Dong Hua had never seen on him. Not even when they were in the midst of battle. He replied, "For others, this is a tribulation. But for me, it is as sweet as syrup." He sighed to himself. "Dijun, you have the whole world in your heart and you were never distracted by romantic follies. Of course you cannot understand what I feel."
