When walking away from the Emperor's quarters, she was with Qingti. He expressed his confusion about the woman and that he worried that she was a spy. Fengjiu told him. "I will find her and then we will figure it out."

Qingti smiled and patted her arm. "Let's go and meet my brothers, who will soon be brothers to you!"

She smiled back at him and nodded. They walked inside the soldiers quarters. All of them were shouting ideas of who the mysterious girl was.

Qingti walked over to them. "You are not doing your jobs properly... and what reason are you shouting for?"

One of the soldiers stated, "General, we are making a bet on the lady who fell into the water last night."

Qingti sighed. "You are all so bold! Are you worthy of discussing the affairs of His Majesty?"

Fengjiu thought, 'He is harsh but I understand that he doesn't like gossiping or betting. He cares about Xuanren.'

Another guard replied, "General, we are worried about His Majesty's safety."

Then he asked, "What then is the conclusion?"

The guard then expressed what the others thought the lady from the water was. A spy or ambitious maid.

She sighed. 'All of them are wrong.'

Qingti shook his head when they started laughing. "Enough. If you are done fooling around, then pull yourselves together." He turned to her and smiled. "This is Bai Xiao Jiu, the person who saved His Majesty on the battlefield, and the one who saved me when bringing the Princess here." Then he looked back at the guards. "His Majesty transferred him to me to be team leader for now. "Come, get acquainted."

Like last time they looked at her with judgemental eyes. A few whispers were about her stature. "How did he do it? He is quite short, thin and weak looking."

One of the braver soldiers came forward. "General, for this new member who joined us, Xiao Jiu, we should first see his abilities before we can assign him anything...or else if he gets hurt, His Majesty might be upset." He looked behind him. "Am I right?"

The other guards replied, "Right!"

Fengjiu grinned inside her head. She replied, "Fine then. What do you want to compete with?"

A couple minutes later they walked outside. The most bold soldier came forward. "Let's fight."

She nodded. "All right."

They were handed dull swords but the swords could still cut and bruise. All the guards surrounded them in a circle. They all looked excited. She glanced over at Qingti who had a small smile on his face. He knew she would be able to fight any of them easily.

The guard taunted, "Are you afraid little man?"

"Not even a little bit." She laughed.

She thought to herself, 'They are already humans...I better just stick to the moves I did before. It would be unfair to show off.' Then she remembered that she would have a fight with mortal Dong Hua, on that she didn't mind showing off.

They both walked around in a circle and got in a fighting stance. Fengjiu kept her eyes on his movements. The guard decided to go for a surprised attack and she dodged it and hit him on the arm hard enough to give a bruise. He glared at her. "That doesn't count."

She laughed internally and nodded. He rushed at her again and she pushed away his blade like it was nothing. He started trying to use fancy moves but she just kept blocking him without moving much.
