Dong Hua felt anxious everyday that he was away from Princess Fengjiu. He kept the jewel from Zhe Yan, who made a huge fuss about it. But Dong Hua felt it was his job to look after her, especially when he was waiting for the information that she had about the future. At least, that is what he told himself.

Often he would use the jewel to contact her, but she never answered. At first, he thought it was because she was busy learning at the school in Sanskrit Valley, but after he contacted her different times of the day, he realized that she was ignoring him.

Dong Hua had even tried to trick Fengjiu to answer his calls by letting Prince A'Li call, but she didn't answer, as if she knew his tricks.

'Why is she ignoring me?' He wondered. 'Is she mad that I couldn't come and get her sooner? No...that's impossible...she knew that I wouldn't be able to see her for all these months.' He sighed. 'Each day feels like its own month.'

Over the next few months he tried to keep himself busy by fixing the barrier. Some days he bought more dresses and jewelry for Fengjiu. He told himself it was because he wasn't sure how long Fengjiu would stay in his Palace.

After he finished cultivating one day, he called on Lian Song to play a board game. He called on Lian Song because thinking of Fengjiu made him frustrated with her for not answering his calls.

While they were playing Lian Song laughed. "I've only seen you like this once before. When your Xiao Huli went missing."

"Like what?" Dong Hua asked absentmindedly as he moved another piece.

"You seem agitated," Lian Song stated. "Usually you are very calm, but ever since that fox left...you've been different." He pondered how to explain for a moment. "You seem more awake... as if you aren't just coasting in life. It feels like you've been coasting ever since you stepped down from the throne."

Dong Hua's eyes widened. He never thought he just coasted through life, but now that he reflects. 'It does seem like I coasted through life, at least when I'm not saving the realms.'

Lian Song continued. "You never do things for yourself. The only goal you seemed to have was protecting the realms." He sighed. "I'm grateful and so are all the immortals...but it's nice to see you caring about other things."

Dong Hua sighed and moved another piece on the board. He didn't want to think about it anymore. What he was talking about made his chest hurt for some reason.

In Sanskrit Valley, Fengjiu dedicated her time better in this life. She made sure to study everything she could. This time she wasn't a trouble maker who made her teacher angry, in fact, her teacher loved her this life.

When Fengjiu wasn't hanging out with Xiao Yan and the others, she was attached to her teacher. She was learning so much more this life.

One day, she was sitting with her teacher and helping him grade papers.

"Master?" Fengjiu called out.

"Yes?" He smiled.

Fengjiu bit her lip. She knew it was a gamble to admit that she knew certain things, but she wanted to be better prepared for the dream realm. She hated the idea that Dong Hua gave up 90% of his cultivation, just to enter and wondered if her teacher had any information.

"I heard about what happened here many years ago." Fengjiu stated. She spoke about Arianya and Shen Ye, just the basics, because she knew that it would be strange to admit that she knew about the dream realm.
