Eternal Love of Dream Chapter 28

Xuanren had dismissed Jieyu Wan and her person maid while Xiao Jiu was resting. He starting feeling numb from sitting so long and decided to climb in bed with her. 'After all we are married.' Then he fell into a peaceful sleep by his love's side.

Fengjiu woke up and noticed through the window that it was dark outside and that the moon was full. She felt very warm in bed, more so than normal. She looked to the side and saw Xuanren with his body near hers. Her heart started racing. 'He slept beside me...much like my Dong Hua.' She looked over at his relaxed face and wanted to stroke it.

He woke up and looked shocked for a moment at seeing her. He felt a current go through his veins at her touch. He had never felt such pleasure.

Fengjiu took her hand away from his face, not wanting him to get the wrong idea. 

"You don't have to stop touching me. I'm your husband after all," Xuanren stated, his voice raspy from sleeping.

She laughed as she stood up. "I'm sure your have work to do today. I'll get breakfast and we can eat together."

Xuanren smiled and let her walk out. He thought to himself, 'I want to wake up like that forever.'

They had breakfast together, laughing and smiling together. He was taken away by his Chief Eunuch, who informed him that some of the nobles had come to speak with him.

Xuanren sighed. "I must go, Xiao Jiu. I'll come by later."

She nodded and replied, "Yes, Your Majesty."

Before he left, he turned to her and said, "I'll send the physician to look over you again. Please do exactly as he asks." He had a worried look on his face. "You must stay healthy."

Fengjiu smiled at his concern. "Yes, Your Majesty. I'll take care of myself, I promise." He nodded and then left.

The rest of the day, she focused on trying to feel better. She wasn't feeling well, and knew it was due to the rebound effect. She tried to hide her pain from her maids, but it was hard. She knew Muyun was concerned about her.

Also, Fengjiu was worried. The demons now knew that she was here for Dong Hua. If they told Nie Chuyin, then she was screwed. She had to figure out something before everything turned to chaos.

Xuanren spent the whole day trying to focus on listening to all the nobles who were having issues that needed to be dealt with, mainly petty arguments and settlements. He couldn't stop his mind from thinking about his Xiao Jiu. 'I hope she is feeling alright and I hope she is getting rest.'

When the last of the nobles had left, he focused on making a personal essence for Xiao Jiu. He put in ingredients to keep her calm and help her sleep. He hoped it was enough to make her feel better.

A couple hours later, it was dinner time and he thought about Xiao Jiu. 'She loves sweet potatoes.' Tonight is supposed to be rich foods that his concubines would love. 'Xiao Jiu most likely won't like the food tonight...what if I try out making sweet potatoes? Maybe mine will rival the mystery man's.'

He went into the kitchen and dismissed the staff, who looked shocked to see him there, but they left as he commanded. He grabbed two sweet potatoes and put them in the oven. Xuanren checked on them every few seconds, making sure they were not burned. He subtly added some spices on them, hoping to make his sweet potatoes special. He scalded his hands, but it was worth it. He finally got them perfectly cooked.
