A/n: This should be a relatively safe chapter. It's based around the eldest six gods, (Hestia, Hades, Demeter, Poseidon, Hera and Zeus) set during HoO when the gods were flickering between Roman and Greek forms on account on the war. Disclaimer: I don't own the characters, Rick Riordan does. Enjoy!

The entire council had a headache. It was impossible not to. Their Roman and Greek children were fighting. And that caused all the deities to flicker between forms. And that causes headaches. The council itself was in disarray.

Athena and Neptune were screaming at each other, even as Athena doubled over and flickered to Minerva.

Ceres was screaming at Pluto over Prosperina, who flickered to Persephone, still annoyed.

Zeus and Juno were arguing about his infidelity.

Aphrodite, Ares and Hephaestus were screaming at each other over Aphrodite's affair with Ares.

Diana and Apollo were fighting over who was the older twin. Hermes and Dionysus piped in every so often.

Vesta tended to the hearth, flickering to Hestia as she did so.

The gods were in total disarray. And there was nothing any of them could do until the Greeks and Romans stopped fighting.

"I told you that being the Romans and Greeks together was a bad idea, woman!" Jupiter screamed.

Juno snarled back, "When have you ever been right?!"

Jupiter raised his hand towards Juno. While Zeus cheated on Hera, he would never raise his hand to her. His Roman persona did not have the same morals. Perhaps it came from their much more warlike personalities.

The ichor drained from Juno, and she inched back.

"Jupiter, let's not be rash." She pleaded.

"Shut up woman." Jupiter looked about ready to smack her, but was stopped.

His form flickered violently and he doubled over. It attracted his older brothers' attention. Pluto flickered to Hades, looking concerned. Neptune morphed into Poseidon, worry clouding his features.

"Zeus?" Juno called, her form relaxing and becoming Greek once more.

"Hera, move back." Hades warned.

His sister paused, before inching backwards. Hades and Poseidon left the goddesses they were arguing with, moving towards their brother. The others in the throne room quieted a bit.

"Zeus?" Poseidon called softly.

The youngest brother groaned softly. "Meeting over. You're dismissed." He grit out to the council.

His children (legitimate two, and illegitimate others) and Aphrodite frowned, but flashed out to a different part of the palace. However the elder siblings stayed back.

Demeter, despite her flickering form, ran up to her sister. Hera looked mortified, her eyes full of fear as they stared at her husband. Demeter and Hestia did their best to get to Hera, ignoring the pains and flickers.

Proserpina stood up, walking to her husband, despite his Greek form. Amphitrite hurried to her husband as well.

"The demigods must stop fighting or else we'll all be reduced to this." Hestia breathed heavily.

Zeus didn't have it in him to glare at his eldest sister and tell her he was fine. His head was pounding.

"Sister, we're already losing the war against the giants. It almost doesn't matter-" Hera was cut off as her husband rightened himself.

"Zeus?" Hades called softly.

His brother did not answer. The king of the gods' form flickered again sending him back to his knees on the floor. It triggered Hera's form in to flicker, and the queen bumped into Demeter as she stumbled.

Demeter released a small shriek as her form violently shifted from Greek to Roman and back again repeatedly.

Hades turned to his wife. "Dearest, help your mother out please. She needs to rest."

Persephone nodded slowly, standing and reaching for her mother. Demeter huffed but allowed her daughter to flash them away. Hestia slowly made her way to Hera, face set in determination, concentrating to keep her Greek form and to reach her sister.

Hades reached down towards his youngest sibling, hands grasping Zeus's shoulders as he crouched beside the king.

Poseidon knelt beside his brothers, elder's eyes full of concealed pain, younger's face scrunched in agony. "What are we going to do, Hades? We can't live like this."

"The demigods must resolve their fighting if we are to help them fight against the Earth Mother. We can't help like this." Hades said, pressing a hand to his temple as he fought his headache.

Poseidon sighed, nodding. He glanced down at Zeus and felt a pang of worry. As much as he and his brother fought, he loved him. And Poseidon would be damned if he let anyone harm any of his siblings.

The three brothers sat in comfortable silence. Hades gently pulled Zeus into a comfortable sitting position, and let the youngest brother lay his head against his shoulder. Poseidon sat on the other side of Hades, leaning towards his elder brother's warmth. Despite living in the Underworld, Hades was surprising warm all the time.

Zeus, to give him credit, didn't say a word. Despite the seemingly unbearable pain he was in, the god of lightning didn't complain. He simply closed his eyes and leaned against his brother, seemingly thankful for the comfort.

Hades released a small sigh. "How did we ever let ourselves get to the point when we couldn't stay in a room together without arguing?"

"We were foolish young rulers." Poseidon mused softly. "We didn't realize how divided we became until it was too late to mend it."

"It was my fault." Zeus cut in, wincing at the pain it caused. "I was paranoid Hades would overthrow me and I banished him. I was being foolish."

"I shouldn't have just went along with it." Poseidon agreed.

The brothers fell back into a comfortable silence. Hades looked a little touched at the thought of his brothers regretting what had happened so long ago.

"For the record, Hades, I'm sorry." Zeus murmured, sounding sleepy as he closed his eyes.

"Me too." Poseidon mumbled, as he leaned against Hades' shoulder like Zeus.

"I forgive you." Hades smiled a bit. "Goodnight, my brothers. Sleep well."

So, not the happiest with this. I don't remember the original plan I'd had when I started this so I put off writing it and the lazily wrote when I decided I couldn't ignore it anymore. Anyway, another oneshot should be on its way for my miraculous ladybug fans. I have a Plagg and Tikki oneshot being written. We'll see if it will come out in the next week or so, and if it'll even stay what it's supposed to be. Comment here if you have any suggestions on what I should write. Happy reading loves!
