This aligns with most of Infinity War, but does not canonically align with Endgame. There is some violence so if it makes you uneasy, don't read.
Loki regretted it. All of it. He shouldn't have engaged. Shouldn't have allowed. But he did. He had.
He'd helped Thanos. He'd known how dangerous it was. Known that Thor would never approve.
He'd done it anyway.
Stupid, he knew. Thor told him several times.
But there they stood, having lost so much. Loki's fault, he knew.
They were together, alone with only Hulk after the rest had been slaughtered. Thanos stood before them, in all his evil glory.
He held Thor by the head, his purple Power stone beginning to glow already. Loki's heart clenched. His fault.
He had seen Thor getting thrown across the room by one of Thanos' children, Cull Obsidian. The one eyed god of lightning had struck his head and had laid there limply. The Hulk was covered by Loki's magic, though his reserves were depleting. Loki had done nothing to protect his brother, already rendered essentially useless, captured by Thanos' children.
"Your brother, Thor, I'm assuming." Thanos had said when he'd first entered the ship and saw Thor limp on the ground. He'd began to walk over to him
Loki silently urged his brother to stand up. He did not.
Thanos didn't care that Loki didn't answer him. "No lost love between brothers?"
There was plenty. Loki cared. Loki loved. Thor did too. They were just both terrible at showing it. And...well...sometimes Loki did stupid things....like working with Thanos and causing that battle in New York.
But they cared. They loved each other.
Thanos grabbed Thor by the collar, and then held him by the head.
Loki swore his heart stopped.
I'm sorry, brother, this is my fault. Loki heard his thought running through his head repeatedly. It was his fault.
Thanos had been talking, but Loki had mostly tuned him out, until Thor opened his mouth.
"You talk too much." The god of lightning said, blood dripping down his chin.
Thanos either didn't care, or simply was waiting to harm Thor for that comment. Loki thought he was right though.
"The Tesseract, or your brother's head. I assume you have a preference." The Mad Titan stared him down.
Loki felt weak in the knees. He put on a brave front, because he was the God of Trickery, and what else could he do?
He looked at his brother, helpless in Thanos' grip, and felt helpless himself. But he set his lips into a thin line.
"Oh, I do. Kill away."
Thanos pressed his gauntlet against Thor's temple, the Power Stone glowing furiously. Thor screamed in agony. Loki forced himself to continue to watch, but his heart clenched at the sound. The Power Stone glowed brighter and brighter, as Thor screamed in pain.
Loki knew pain. He'd thought he'd be the one to die at Thanos' hands. He'd thought he'd be the one to suffer in agony.
He never thought it would be Thor. He never realized Thor would be harmed, would be used against him. Tears burned his eyes.
"ALRIGHT! STOP!" Loki shouted, tears still burning his eyes and he closed them to avoid crying.
Thor's agonized yells stopped, replaced by labored breathing. Loki nearly began to sob with relief and guilt at having caused the pain.
