Disclaimer: I don't own the characters, Rick Riordan does. Oh, and a few mentions of Greek mythological characters that Uncle Rick doesn't use. Also, this oneshot will have some curses and mentions of character death. Most are not fully written, but if that triggers you, or if you just simply don't like it, don't read. And in case you couldn't tell, I love Ares and Athena's sibling bond, just like I love Phoebe and Max's.

Ares strained under the weight. He was still adjusting to the heaviness of the sky.

The god of war swore under his breath, glancing down at the golden chains that bound him in place. His bronze armor was cracked and chipped, lying in front of him, as a reminder of the final battle he'd lost. Athena's armor sat beside his.

Half a year after Apollo regained his godhood, the titan lord, Kronos, rose again. This time with the force of all his siblings and the other banished titans.

The first thing Kronos had done was send his plentiful army after the demigods at Camp Half-Blood and Camp Jupiter. The unsuspecting half-bloods were nearly wiped out in one battle. The remaining took shelter in Olympus, before marching out to join or avenge their fallen friends and siblings. The kids hadn't cared which would happen. They'd simply had a preference for the latter.

After the second battle, with their numbers even further deteriorated, they'd gone to make a final stand at Half Blood Hill, where the two camps had first united. Not a single demigod escaped the third battle.

The gods of Olympus were severely weakened without the prayers and might of their children. The gods, minor and major alike had fought relentlessly for months. But they'd began to fade and lose.

Ares and Athena, two sides to the same coin, strategic battle and bloody war, lost their final battle side by side. They were imprisoned under the sky, taking on the burden of Atlas so the titan of strength could join his brethren.

It had only been two days. But neither war deity could take it any more. By it, he meant each other's presence. The siblings didn't get along the best, and being stuck with one another was hard.

"Will you stop fidgeting?!" Ares snarled. "You're pushing all the weight on top of me."

"Oh, I'm sorry! I was trying to see if I could slice the chains, but I can't do that if I can't use my hands!" Athena screeched back.

A few more mindless insults were traded before a real argument broke out between the two.

"Father trusted me to stop the titans, and look at me! Stuck under the sky!" Athena shrieked.

"Enough, Athena." Ares' voice suddenly dropped but his sister didn't notice.

"Father knew I was capable of fighting beside him. Had me do it for centuries. And now! I'm trapped holding the weight of the sky for Chaos knows how long!"

"ENOUGH, ATHENA!" Ares roared.

Athena turned to stare at him, her piercing gray eyes sending a sharp glare at him.

"ENOUGH ABOUT FATHER! I know he favored you! I know he loved you most! But it doesn't matter anymore!"

"What doesn't?!" Athena argued.

"Any of this! Look at us, Athena! Look at the council!"

"There is no council left!" Athena screamed.

"Exactly! I lost everything! My aunts, Hestia and Demeter! My brother, Hephaestus, who I should I treated better, would have treated better if I knew he would fade! Apollo, Artemis, Hermes, Dionysus, Poseidon! My mother and father!"

"OUR FATHER!" Athena yelled, tears gathering in her eyes. "OUR FAMILY!"

"Yes, our family! They're all gone!" Ares snapped. "Hades is trapped in the Underworld, forced to rule under Kronos, else Persephone will be harmed! Aphrodite is held captive by the Titans, only kept alive because she technically is one! My sons, Eros, Phobos, and Deimos as forced to obey the titans, else their mother will be harmed! My daughter, Harmonia, faded! My beloved daughter!Athena, there are eight gods left of hundreds! And all of them are held captive in some way!"
