Sister and friend

The two boys stared at each other for a couple of seconds before a girl came running over to Hyunjin. "Jinnie! I'm so glad you came to see me." The girl exclaimed hugging Hyunjin. "Of course, I'd come to see my little sister, how else are you going to stay sane." Hyunjin smiled. "Oh, do you know Jisung?" Hyunjin's sister asked. "Um yeah we go to the same school." "Thats great! Jisungie is so nice and keeps me company sometimes."

Hyunjin couldn't believe his eyes or his ears, his sister has been in this place for years ever since she saw her own mother take her life when she was 10. She became mentally unstable and wouldn't eat or drink anything and never got proper sleep ever. She claimed to see things and hear things which led her father to admit her and Hyunjin was not happy with it. But he eventually saw how it was helping her day by day and he would visit her whenever he could.

Hyunjin did not expect however to see Jisung the school's disease as they called him, the person his friends bullied, and he always stood idly by. So, this is where he was all that time Hyunjin thought to himself.

"I-i had no idea you were here Jisung." Hyunjin said. "Well now you know, so go ahead and go back to school and tell everyone that the school's disease is a fucking mental case locked up in the institution." Jisung scoffed. "Wait, Jinnie what does he mean? Do you bully him?" Hyunjin's sister started to tear up. "Yes and no I guess you could say." Hyunjin replied.

Before she could get out any other words her brother dragged her off and Jisung turned his back on them and walked out the room.

Hyunjin

"Sana, I had no idea really." I tried to explain. "Come on Jinnie, you don't know what he's been through." Sana said. "How long has he been here?" "Well as of now only about almost two weeks otherwise he was admitted here when he was 12, I think after his mother died or killed, I should say."

I sat back in my chair in disbelief, "His mother was killed? I knew she died but other than that I didn't know much." "I wouldn't have known either if I hadn't of overheard it. You know his father abuses him, right? I guess one night his mother stepped in and was brutally hit over the head with a bat or something trying to protect him."

Fuck.

I guess I feel like shit now. No wonder why he always came to school beat to all hell and bruises all over him. No parent should ever treat their child like that I don't care who the fuck you are.

"I'm scared for him Jinnie. I may not know him all that well, but he has been a friend to me in here and right now he's not doing so good." Sana mumbled. "What do you mean?" I asked. "Did you not look at him, he looks like complete shit. And I-i guess he hurt h-himself." "Shit." "He talked about school sometimes ya know, and how he had the worst bullies. Please tell me you weren't one of them." "Well not exactly, but I never stopped them from bullying him."

My sister looked at me as if she was actually ashamed of me and really, I don't blame her. Jisung was always looked at as someone to not go near or touch, someone who would look like he would go off on you. So, everyone always made fun of him and started calling him the school's disease and to be honest Chan started in on the physical bullying and I have no idea why.

Changbin eventually joined in on it and most of the time I just stood by and watched, Jisung was quiet and awkward as well as weird looking to some. People heard rumors about him and his family, but no one knew the whole truth and now I do.

"Hey! I also think there is someone Jisungie likes too, he mentioned a boy from school who he has a crush on." Sana said snapping me out of my thoughts. "Huh? Not that I'm aware of. He's never seen with anyone." I replied. "I just overheard him talking about it with one of the volunteers here who also use to be a patient here."

I looked at my sister with an are you kidding me look.

"Is that what you do to pass your time listen in on other people's conversations?" "Ugh what else am I going to do watch the paint dry in art?" Sana rolled her eyes. "Besides everything around here is interesting when you overhear stuff." "You are something else you know that? You're lucky I still come and visit you." I sarcastically said. "But you love me."

As I was about to head out, I ran into a dark-haired boy who was awfully tiny in my opinion and had freckles that scattered his face. "Oops I'm sorry, my bad." I said while picking up some papers the boy dropped and handing them to him. "No worries." The accented boy said.

I looked at him and he was the most beautiful thing I've ever seen, and his accent and deep voice only made it better. And right now, I'm sure I seem like a weirdo just starring at him.

"I saw you talking to Sana earlier, she's a very nice girl and has actually come a long way." The boy said. "Oh, uh yeah she's, my sister. I try to visit her as much as I can." I replied. "Well, I think it does wonders for her to have you and her friend. Anyways I should get going." The boy smiled walking away.

"Wait!" I yelled.

The boy turned around and gave me the most heartwarming smile "Felix." He said walking away.

Felix, I muttered to myself. Hopefully I'll get to see you again.

My mind was running wild right now about everything, Sana and Jisung to Felix. My sister was definitely doing better than a few years ago and she had someone to keep her company being that person, Han Jisung.

Now I know just a fraction of his story and if only people knew they wouldn't be making fun of him or shaming him or better yet bullying him. I know his story is not mine to tell, but it makes me wonder if this so-called crush of his wasn't one of my friends.

My head is a mess with all this information and my heart hurts at the thought of it all.
