At Audre's pad -
Audre: "Hmm, ready ka na ba?"
Mart: (startled) "Ha? Saan?"
Audre: (smiles big) "I just got you a date with Shane!! (claps and is happy) And it would happen this coming Saturday!!" (Excites)
Mart doesn't know how to feel. A bit sad feeling is stirring up inside him. His excitement to be with Audre is being replaced with confusion and unknown feeling. But he decided to hide them all.
Mart: (surprised) "Wow! You made an effort for that to happen? Oh, thanks Audre ha." (smiles widely)
Audre: "Isn't that exciting?" (nods and smiles)
Mart: "Yes, of course. Hehe! I can't thank you enough!"
In a spur of moment, he just hugs her. Mart just needs to hold Audre for he doesn't know what to do with himself. The girl respondedly hugs back.
Audre: (stops getting excited and pulls herself from the hug) "Hmmm teka . . . teka, parang may nagbago sa'yo?"
Mart feels a bit panic inside.
- Did she notice? How come? Ow F*CK!
Audre: "Kinakabahan ka 'no?"
Mart: "Ah . . . oo! Hehe! Yun nga."
- Whew! Akala ko mabubuking nya ako.
Audre: "Huwag ka kabahan, okay? Hehe. We will have you prepared for it, para hindi ka kabahan. . . Kaya mo yan!"
Mart: "Okay, sure. Kaya ko yan."
His mind is not paying much attention to the idea. His mind is just concentrating on this girl in front of him. Mart looks at Audre's lips, the way it sways as she speaks, the wrinkles on her nose when she laughs, and make face. How he wish to kiss those lips.
Audre: "Hmm, okay. Let's pretend okay? Kunyare ako si Shane. And then, andun na tayo sa date. Hmm, you have to converse with me. So, how will you do it? Show me."
Mart: "hmm (breathes deeply) Okay. Of course, I will put my best behavior and be gentleman to you. I will pull the chair for you and help you settle. Then, we will order food. While we are waiting, I will begin to ask, how are you today?. . And then, I will continue asking you some interesting questions to keep our conversation going, and then, from there, if allowed, I will share things about myself. Syempre, depende kung saan mapupunta ang usapan natin. I will be confident and not reluctant."
Audre: "Fair enough. Okay, what if may makita kang tinga sa ngipin ni Shane, anong gagawin mo?"
Mart: (thinks seriously, but gets distracted and laughs) "Audre!!"
Audre just know how to make Mart laugh. And it's one of the gestures why Mart likes this girl so much.
Audre: "What? Hahaha! It could happen, you know. . I'm just making you laugh. You looked tensed and worrying kasi." (sincerely smiles)
Mart –if you would only know what I'm feeling right now.
"Haha! No. Maybe I am just surprised and yeah, a bit tensed. But I'm okay. Thank you, Audre for helping me talaga."
Audre: "Ikaw pa ba?" (smiles and winks)
Mart: "I just want to ask, paano mo nagawa yun?"
Audre: "Ang alin?"
Mart: "Paano ako nagkaron ng date kay Shane?"
Audre: (whispers) "Connections." (winks)
Mart kept mum and speechless, thinks deep.
Audre: "Hahaha! Joke. Wala akong connections, heheh. I just happened to bump into her the other day. And then, I talked about you sa kanya. She seemed interested, so napapayag ko sya. Yun! I think I have the charm. Haha!" (winks and laughs, she feels happy for herself for the job well done)
Mart: "Ang akala ko, joke lang yung date. Inaantay kong yun ang spill mo eh." (laughs)
- Yes, you have that charm. You charmed me and my heart.
Audre: (stops feeling happy) "Hoy, ang sama mo. Nag-effort ako dun noh." (pouts lips)
Mart: "Sumimangot agad. Haha! Huy, biro lang. Seriously, I am amazed for your doing. Thanks for that. I owe you one." (smiles)
Audre: "Yey! Heheh! Marty~will~get~a~girlfriend." (teases repeatedly and dances like a crazy)
Mart: "Haha!"
-Oh man! I'm f*cked up
As he got home, Mart couldn't help but think of his situation. It's giving him quite a headache. He didn't notice that Paolo is approaching him.
Paolo: "Si Audre ba yan?"
Mart: (was startled for a bit, laughs for the unexpected voice he hears, and smiles at his cousin) "Bro, ginulat mo ako. Kanina ka pa dyan?"
Paolo: "Hindi naman. Kakalapit ko lang sa'yo. Pero kanina pa kita tinitingnan at kanina ka pa tulala. At hindi mo napansin ang tanong ko. May sakit ka ba?"
Mart: "Ah. . . hehe. Wala. Wala akong sakit." (evades)
Paolo: "At hindi mo nga sinagot ang tanong ko." (redirects back)
Mart: (sighs deeply) "Paano mo nalaman, bro?"
Paolo: "Wala. Napapansin ko lang. Siguro kilala na kita. Magpinsan tayo eh. I know you when you worry, or having some deep thought. I just didn't expect that my hunch is right. Audre."
Mart: "Magagalit ka ba sa akin?"
Paolo: "Bakit? For what reason?"
Mart: "Kasi alam ko sa sarili ko, nung una, gusto ko si Shane. Pero ngayon, hindi na ako sigurado."
Paolo: "Okay lang yun. Wala ka namang ginagawang masama."
Mart: "Paano kung nagkakagusto na ako sa bestfriend mo? Magagalit ka ba sa'kin?"
Paolo: "Not an issue. I love you both" (chuckles)
Mart: "Pero hindi pa ako sigurado kung anong gagawin ko. Hindi ko masabi kay Audre. I fear that it may ruin our friendship. Bagong magkaibigan pa lang kami. Hindi ko alam kung anong magiging reaction nya. Lalu na ngayon na. . ."
Paolo: "na ano, bro?"
Mart: ". .na na-set up na nya ako ng date kay Shane. Sa Sabado."
Paolo: "Oh, man! That's kinda mess."
Mart: "Tulungan mo ako bro. Hindi ko alam kung ano bang gagawin ko sa nararamdaman ko."
Paolo: "You know what; maybe it's too early to say things. Hmm, maybe what you have to do now is to go with it. I mean makipagdate ka muna kay Shane. I-check mo muna kung ano ang mararamdaman mo kay Shane, kapag nakausap mo na sya at nakasama. Maybe your feelings right now with Audre is not yet concluded. It may still fleet. Baka din kasi kaya mo lang nagugustuhan si Audre is because you are spending much time together. And. . Wala ka pa namang ibang nakakasamang babae sa buong buhay mo nang kagaya ng sa inyo ni Audre. Kumbaga, wala kang ibang reference. Kaya baka, na-ooverwhelm ka lang sa presence ni Audre sa buhay mo. Think about it bro, bago ka gumawa ng action dyan sa nararamdaman mo."
Mart: "You got a point. Tama ka, thanks bro."
Paolo: "Take it easy lang, bro. (pats his back) Kaya mo yan. I'm just excited for you, on how this situation of yours be revealed in time. There's so much about life, bro kaya i-enjoy mo lang. And, kung sino man ang i-pursue mo, I would gladly support you. I know soon you will figure it out. Don't get too stressed. Hehe. Dami pang ibang chicks dyan, if that won't work out."
Mart: "Bro, pakiusap ko lang sa'yo, please don't tell Audre. I can't afford to lose her, I mean the friendship we have. Not in this way."
Paolo: "Yep, sure. I won't tell any. Kahit kay Ayin. Basta if you need help, dito lang ako bro. I got your back."
Mart: "Thanks bro. Thanks. It means a lot."
