Ch.13

I jumped up out of bed sweating. I had that dream again.

"Nightmare again?" The hero asked as he was drinking a coffee. I looked over at him confused.

"Why are you up so early?" I asked and he shrugged.

"Couldn't sleep." He said and I sighed. He walked over. He sat next to me.

"What's the nightmare about?" He asked and I sighed.

"It's nothing." I said and he hummed.

"Who's Hanako?" He asked and I was confused. I looked at him.

"You keep screaming her name." He said and i looked down ashamed.

"Oh she's someone I apparently let down. I wasn't strong enough." I said and he put his cup down on the bedside table. He turned to look at me.

"Is that why you're such a brat." He chuckled and i huffed crossing my arms.

"I'm serious you're so stubborn that it's frustrating. It took a month for you to accept my help. You might have been weak back then but you're not now. You clearly been through something horrible. You deserve a break Ghost." He said and I looked at him.

"Oh don't look like that. I just thought it would be fitting for you." He said and I sighed and relaxed.

"Anyway I'll let you go back to sleep." He said but I stopped him from getting up.

"wait I wanted to ask. What was the other day about? The flirting." I asked him and he smirked.

"Oh? That well let me be honest." He said and stood. He put a knee between my legs and pushed me gently to the bed. His hands on each side of my head.

"I like the mystery. Trying to figure you out is fun. I want to know but I also don't and your attitude makes it more fun. I didn't really realize until you where squirming underneath my gaze." He said and leaned down his nose touching mine.

"But as a hero I'll respect your personal space." He said and got off me. I laid there flustered. He chuckled as he left the room.

That afternoon

"Captain you in position?" Shadow asked as I set my sniper up on a roof. I got down on my stomach and looked through the scope at them. Shadow not having the skeleton part of his mask on.

"Copy Captain is in position and ready for phase two to commence." I said in the ear peace.

"You guys going to talk all military the whole fucking time?" Dynamite complained.

"Kacchan it's their job leave them be." Deku defended.

"Ghost you sure you can do this?" Shadow asked me.

"I'm sure. If something happens it's not a big deal it's just a hide out." I said.

"Wait what's wrong with her? We are putting our lives in this bitches hands and something could go wrong!" Dynamite growled at Shadow.

"Look you guys fight everyday villains and some big bad guys. Me and Ghost have been through hell on the front lines. Our last mission together went horribly wrong lost two of our own and well almost lost Ghost as well. Anything or everything could go wrong no matter what." Shadow explained and I looked at my watch.

"Don't dwell on the past Shadow. Get moving y'all are two minutes behind schedule." I said and they started moving.

I watched as they snuck into the building. I watched the number one as he was the first to come up on someone. He was hesitating tho. I sighed and took a deep breath before pulling the trigger. Killing the man with a head shot.

"Number one. This is a termination mission we have to move fast. I know it's against your protocol but it has to be done." I said and he sighed.

"Yes sorry." He said and kept moving.

Eventually I couldn't see them anymore which meant I had to move in.

"Vision has been compromised going in." I said getting my stuff.

"Copy that." Shadow said. I stood and used my quirk to get down faster.

I appeared in the shadows behind a enemy. I saw the number one hero hesitating again but it was fine. I walked out the shadows and put a hand over the enemy's mouth and stabbed him in the chest a few times.The hero just looked at me. I shrugged and held my assault rifle that had a silencer on it.

"So Ghost what did you do while you were retired?" Shadow asked.

"I moved here and had a good job. See how that turned out." I said and crouched down looking through a railing from the second floor. I got my sniper out and looked down. I sighed as the hero stopped next to me.

"In position." I said.

"Ready?" Shadow asked and I hummed.

"3...2...1.." I said pulling the trigger and quickly moving killing five people down below.

"3." Shadow said and I smirked underneath my mask.

"5." I said and he scoffed.

"Cheater." He said and I giggled and got up moving quietly.

"Come on hero." I said and he followed.

At the hotel.

After the mission I ran to the hotel to be there before Deku.

I got there and quickly took a shower and I sat on the couch.

"Hey I'm back." He said and he sounded a bit upset.

I looked over the couch to him.

"Hey what's wrong with you?" I asked as he sat next to my feet.

"I never realized how other organizations have it." He said and I was confused. I sat up.

"What do you mean exactly?" I asked and he sighed.

"The hero safety commission got two top dogs to help out. We had to take care of a hide out no one left behind and well." He said and sighed deeply.

"They were offing people and having everyday conversation like they weren't killing people." He said and I looked at the floor my bangs over my eyes.

"I'm sure they been through a lot. I mean they had to do some terrible things. Talking just gets your mind off what your doing." I said looking at the ground.

"Why do you talk like you know exactly what they are going through?" He asked and I got up.

"I know exactly what they're going through."
