A Not So Friendly Conversation

Forrest excused himself after I got my first spare and went back to his friends. Evie came up beside me and poked my side giggling, "Honestly, you must be a witch."

"What do you mean?" I asked confused, rubbing my hands down my jeans.

"You have three boys pining after you now. Did you cast a curse on the entire male populace of Endsbrooke?"

"Oh har, har very funny," I turned away walking to sit down.

"I'm completely serious Emmy! What is it Voodoo? Or maybe it's just some plain old hocus pocus."

"Ok stop it. I haven't cast a spell on any one," I glanced across the bowling alley to where the group of boys sat. York was bowling, and Miles and Forrest were sitting together with their heads together. I glanced away quickly as Forrest looked up and towards me. "I honestly don't know what those guys see in me. I'm surprised they even want to be my friend."

"Emmaline Cox I don't ever want to hear you say something like that again. There is a lot in you that people see, don't put yourself down like that. Besides any girl would be dying to be in your shoes right now." I laughed, that just seemed silly to me.

"I don't even know Forrest; he was just being nice to us and introducing himself. He was being just as nice to you as he was to me."

"Yeah maybe so but he isn't looking at me the way he is looking at you." I tried to glance at him without being noticed but it didn't work, he saw and winked.

"Oh goodness! That's so embarrassing." Evie laughed at me.

"Don't be embarrassed, you should be flattered. You have three cute boys who want to be your "friend" your lucky," She put air quotes around friend and I rolled my eyes.

"Ok just bowl will you?" She saluted me and grabbed her ball to bowl.

When we finally finished our game Evie beat me 120 to 61, kind of pathetic.

"Well, I think I'm done with bowling for now," I scoffed.

"Practice makes perfect you know," She pointed out to me.

"Thank you sensei, but wouldn't you much prefer ice cream?"

She patted my back. "Oh Emmaline you know me so well, let's get some ice cream!"

"Alright I'll meet you at the car I have to use the bathroom first." I walked up to the desk to drop off my shoes and headed towards the restrooms. Before I turned the corner for the hall I heard hard voices talking.

"So you want to tell me why your scent was all over her?"

"Don't be a caveman Forrest, it doesn't look good on you," That was York talking.

"Don't tell me what to do, I'm the Alpha not you. Answer me York why did she stink of you?" Who was he talking about?

"Because I tried to help her with her bowling," Was he talking about me?

"Oh yeah? It must have been a pretty up close and personal lesson you gave her." Forrest's Voice was fierce.

"Maybe it was but I don't think it is really your business," York was egging him on. Forrest let out a low growl.

"You know it is York, and you know why so leave her be from now on!"

"Right well you're not the first to claim her as your mate as you well know. So now I'm thinking that maybe there is some faulty wiring going on somewhere, and who knows she might not be any of your mates."  I heard a deep hard chuckle.
