Monday loomed over my head like a dark cloud. I had spent the rest of the weekend walking around the house in a daze. But now I had to see Forrest and I didn't know if I could face him. He would know that I had kissed Ronan just by looking at my face; both Ronan and Forrest were extremely good at reading my face. But I sluggishly got ready for the day any way, by the time my dad dropped Evie and I off I had composed myself just a little. I walked straight to world history with my head down, I didn't want to run in to anyone yet, I wasn't ready for that. I made it to class and saw that I was one of the first ones there I sat in my usual seat and grabbed a book out of my bag to occupy myself. I became engrossed in my book and paid no attention to my surroundings until a body sat on top of my desk, I looked up to see York in front of me.
"I heard you went on a date last night," his eyes didn't exactly meet mine and it made me nervous.
"Oh you did, from whom?" I didn't answer his question.
"From people, word travels pretty quickly." He looked down at his hand which was very close to mine.
"Especially when you are best friends with Forrest," I couldn't help but say. York snorted and nodded.
"Yeah especially then but it has been the topic of many conversations around school, did you have a good time?"
"York, do you really want to talk about my date?" I didn't really want to talk about it with him.
"No," He mumbled.
"I didn't think so." York stood from my desk and made his way to the seat in front of me just as Forrest entered the room. His eyes locked onto mine as soon as he entered, he smiled at me and I gave him a half smile back. His smile dropped as he came towards me and sat in the desk next to me.
"How was your weekend?" He said quietly.
"Good thanks, how about yours?" This time it was me who couldn't meet his beautiful eyes.
He sighed heavily, "It was alright, I couldn't stop thinking."
"Thinking about what?" I couldn't help but ask.
"It started off as thinking about you, and then I started thinking about you on your date with Ronan." I felt my cheeks grow warm and clasped my hands together in my lap. "Then it was me thinking about what you would be doing on your date, so I had to stop that train of thought."
"Forrest, I'm sorry I," I started to speak but he cut me off.
"Then I realized that I was going to go out on a date with you too and I started thinking about us on a date together. What we should do, where I should take you, what I should wear...what you would wear." I finally lifted my eyes to meet his and he was smiling at me. My heart beat a little bit quicker.
"You were thinking about our date?"
"Yeah I was, I've already got it all planned out I'm thinking go carting, how does that sound?" His face was lit up and it eased all of the tension I had been feeling about facing him.
"That's sounds like a lot of fun." I told him honestly, leaving out the part that I had never gone go carting.
"Alright let's get started shall we!" Miss Willoughby called out getting our attention. Forrest winked at me and looked to the front of the class. I looked towards the front of the class as well but not before realizing that Ronan wasn't in his usual seat to the left of me. Miss Willoughby started taking attendance calling out every ones name, when she got to Ronan there was no answer. Half way through class the door opened and Ronan finally walked in looking frazzled. "Thank you for finally joining us Mr. Clark I hope you have a good reason for missing half the class."
