Hayley moved through the throngs of wolves dancing and joking around the bonfire, some telling stories , others listening with smiles on their faces, it was amazing to the see, to witness her people , her family so carefree.

Just enjoying the freedom they now had, a freedom that should've never been taken away in the first place.

Despite the rocky start they had this morning, she was able to prove to every single one of them that she deserved the title of Alpha.

Her little spat with Aiden wasn't the only one she experienced, a few more vocal in their hatred of vampires spoke up and refused to follow her as alpha.

Hayley offered a choice, kneel or leave. It was simple, they'd either accept her as alpha and live under the protection she offered or they'd be casted out as lone wolves , wandering without a home, without a pack.

A few left, banished from the Quarter and the bayou.

Banished from the Quarter by Kara actually and banished from the bayou from her.

The only wolves who didn't bow beside those who left was the remains of the North Atlantic pack. Despite her being engaged to their alpha until they said their vows they only saw one person as their alpha and that was Kara.

Which in the end didn't matter either way because soon Kara and her would say their vows and get married. Then the crescent wolves along with the North Atlantic pack would come together.

"Hayley." She turned surprised that her fiancé came up to her, she was under the impression that she and Ansel were reacquainting themselves.

"Kara?" She asked questioningly, her gaze moved to the taller man behind Kara who offered a small, gentle smile. She returned it somewhat awkwardly.

"We have things to discuss, I think it's best if you join." Kara explained she tilted her head motioning to the numerous wolves around them  "Away from prying ears, it's a sensitive topic."

"About what Finn told us?"

"No, not yet at least. I think we all need a few more days to have that particular bomb settle before speaking of it"

Hayley didn't necessarily agree, to be honest she wanted to talk about this Dahlia woman as soon as possible, create plans, contingencies, their daughter was being targeted and if Dahlia was anything like Esther .. they'd need to be prepared. So with obvious reluctance she relented.

"I know you believe we should plan immediately but we still have no idea where this woman is and if Esther's information can even be trusted, I've already contacted Claire and she's been trying to get in touch with her ancestors to verify whether Finn's words were honest or whether it was simply a way to escape death."

The explanation made much more sense and Hayley should've known Kara wasn't one to simply wait until trouble knocked on their door and wing it. She was much more thorough in her plans than even Klaus.

"That makes sense. So what is it about then?" She asked looking to the father and daughter duo.

"It's about the history of our pack" Ansel interjected calmly  "and given your relationship with my daughter and my granddaughter, I believe it's in your best interest that you're aware of it."

Kara hummed in agreement "Yes that."

"He knows?" Hayley questioned unsurely

"Do not fret, Kara didn't tell me, in fact she didn't need to, not when I can feel her." Ansel explained.

Hayley frowned with obvious confusion at the vague comment. "Okay.." she trailed off "Where are we going?" She asked as they moved further and further from the bonfire, deeper into the woods.
