And we had taken a few steps back, Jake was once again not speaking to me.

I spent my time with the guard. I had convinced them all to take a few days off researching, only so I could do my own.

My eyes followed the medical book Sunghoon let me borrow, I didn't tell him why I wanted it and he didn't ask questions, he did give me odd looks though.

I was reading this book to try and see what all was over the stone, I knew it was in my chest, but not what was between it and my skin.

From what I could remember from what the witch showed me, it maybe to the left of where my heart lays, so there maybe a rib over it, or it maybe between where my ribs lay.

I shut the book. Why am I doing this? Why make myself feel worse.

I think I was trying to make myself numb to the fact I was going to be sliced open like a fish.

I was also trying to keep my mind off the fact I missed the king. The small moments we had when we would sneak away from the library to get food, or just lay under the willow tree.

He wasn't fully ignoring me, but he kept his nose in a book most of the time now, or he would speak with the guards about something they may have found.

I had overheard Jake talking about finding another dragon witch, he even sent out a few lower guards to try and find any trail of one.

"Seori, the king is allowing us all to go out into the village for drinks, would you like to come?"

I jumped when I realized I had been staring at the king across the room from me.

"Huh?"

Sunghoon let out a laugh before repeating himself.

"Oh, no thank you. I'm going to get some rest. Promise me you guys will be back by morning? I don't want to have to come hunt your drunk asses down."

My heart ached a little at his bright smile, I wanted to see all their smiles for many years to come.

"Of course, mom." He pulled me in for a quick hug before heading off.

I give the king on last look before I head for my room, I figured I'd find a maid and ask her to draw me a bath before I went to bed.

Jake watched as Seori left the library, he wanted to stop her, to say something, anything to her, but he didn't know what to say.

He's chest hurt everytime he looked into her eyes, he knew that there was still no other options. No way to save her.

All he had right now was procrastinating.

He kept dragging it out, but how long could he keep doing that before the kingdom died? How long before it all caught up and she had to leave them all.

He was a stupid man and he knew it. He was stupid for not taking every second he could with her, but he also knew that every moment he spent with her would only make losing her even harder.

With a sigh he closed the random book he had, he wasn't even reading it, he hasn't turned the page since Seori had came in the library. He was hoping she would notice and say something to him, ask him if he was that slow of a reader, or some sarcastic comment that he loved to hear her say.

For a second he stopped outside her room and debated on knocking.

With a shake of his head he continued to his room, he would just spend the night lost in thought again.

"I can't believe we haven't found anything." Jay said as he ran a finger around the rim of his cup.
