"So, do I need to ask?" My father crosses his arms at us. He glares sharply at Henry who simply smiles.
"I didn't expect this of my prized knight commander!" He grits his teeth.
"Haha, I thought you wanted this to happen. Isn't that why you dragged me to meet your daughter initially?" Henry laughs, releasing my hand but pulling me in close and wrapping his arm around my waist.
"Henry!" I exclaimed at the sudden intimacy. He looks at me.
"This isn't what I imagined when I was going to do this, but-" He releases me again but turns my body towards him, facing him. He takes a deep breath.
"Lady Annelise- Annelise. I have fallen for your charms, your beauty, your-ahem-unique personality." Henry glances away slightly. Mary sniggers at his offhanded remark.
"Hey!" I couldn't help but exclaim.
"-but none of that matters as I have simply fallen for you and everything about you. Will you allow me-" Before he could finish, I jump into his arms.
"I want to say it first! I like you! Let's date!" I yell at his face. Henry looks startled at my sudden interruption. Mary bursts into uncontrollable laughter.
"HAhaha! Too bad Sir Henry! My lady got there first!" Mary starts to tear up in laughter.
"Did you expect that?" I hug Henry harder, who responds back.
"No! But I wouldn't not expect it from you!" He laughs, ruffling my hair.
"So, do you accept?" I ask him.
"Of course!" He smiles brilliantly, lighting up the whole room.
"Well!" My father scoffs. We turn towards him.
"Daddy, you should have known this was going to happen. Stop acting like that!" I scold him.
"Duke, stop acting like that. You should be happy that my lady finally has a proper knight to guard her." Mary adds on.
"Mary! Even you?!" He looks shocked at Mary's betrayal. She gives my father a teasing grin.
"Sir Henry convinced me that my lady's happiness is the most important! How would I be a good servant if I couldn't support my master's love?" She retorts.
"Good going Henry, you got Mary's support." I praise. He laughs.
"I have to make sure that all of the people my Annelise favors supports us." He places a small kiss on my forehead.
"!!!!" I quickly move away, blushing profusely. I don't get very far since I'm still in his arms, so I just tuck my head into his chest.
"AH! My baby isn't pure anymore!!" My father groans.
"My Annelise? You're moving fast Sir Henry. I didn't peg you for this type of person!" Mary says in pretend shock.
"H-Henry!" I exclaim as he places another kiss on the top of my head since my face is in his chest. I pop out to glare at him. He laughs and tries to place another, but I move away, narrowly avoiding it.
"What, my Annelise? You should get used to it. As a couple, we need to show a level of intimacy!" Henry says seriously. His handsome face looks too serious that I almost believed him.
I hit his chest.
"Even I know that isn't a rule!" I pout.
"Stop! Stop! My baby's still sick, isn't she? She just got out of a coma! Stop! Stop! She needs rest!" My father tries to break us up, but Henry's strong grip wouldn't budge. Instead, Henry picks me up and dashes out the door.
"Come on Mary! Let's go!" He calls back.
"Alright!" Mary yells, running towards us. I wave at my father.
"I'm fine! I've slept enough anyways! Bye!"
