Chapter 41: Some Questions

JYP gestures to the chairs in front of his desk. Bang Chan and I sit down and wait for JYP to move the conversation along. Bang Chan holds onto my hand the whole time.

"I'm happy to finally meet the girl that has put stars in Bang Chan's eyes. Though I'm not opposed to my idols dating and Bang Chan no longer has a dating ban, I still want them to make a good and smart decisions when it comes to dating. As an important part of his group as well as this company, I want to make sure that Bang Chan won't be take advantage off for any reason. Meeting the significant other is very important to me. Bang Chan may be a smart man, but that doesn't mean he isn't excluded from being clouded by love. I don't expect him to make the right decision 100% of the time, but I would hope that he puts enough thought into what he's doing so it doesn't affect him, his group, nor his career in this industry. I'm sure you understand this as I have been told you are well accustomed to the nature of this industry. We will do right by our idols as much as we can. That being said, I would like to ask you a few questions."

"Of course," I agree wholeheartedly. "I will answer whatever questions you have for me."

"Perfect. What is your relationship to The Boyz from IST entertainment?"

"My best friend is Kim Younghoon. I have been best friends with him even before he started his idol training. When he did begin his training, he brought me along at any chance he could. He practically had Cre.Ker Entertainment at the time write me into his contract. He wanted me to have full access to their practices and rehearsals as well as the same protections the idols would receive. He also wanted to make sure that my face doesn't appear anywhere on the internet. He wanted to keep me as safe as possible. I never asked him to do any of this. He threatened to leave the company if he wasn't granted these requests as part of his contract. Cre.Ker wanted Younghoon so bad that they agreed to any of his demands. I became well acquainted with his members and have built a strong relationship with all of them. The Boyz look to me as a sisterly figure that helps take care of their emotional needs as they are not able to meet with their families as often as they would like. I also hold a strong opinion with their management as I can be the members' voice when they need certain things from their company to better their experience as an idol. After the merger of Cre.Ker Entertainment and Play.M Entertainment, they gave me an official title as Pseudo-Manager as Play.M did not understand the initial agreement Younghoon had made with Cre.Ker and The Boyz fought very hard to make sure I didn't lose my place in their company. I am currently on their payroll as a permanent member of their staff with IST."

"Okay. So your relationship with The Boyz is professional as well as personal?"

"Yes, sir."

"And does IST know about your relationship with Bang Chan?"

"To a certain extent, yes. I did disclose to them that I am in a relationship with an idol, but that he was not a part of the company. They did not press me on who exactly is the idol as they found it none of their concern due to the nature of my contract with The Boyz. They are willing to help me with removing images of me with Bang Chan if anything were to surface, as I have disclosed with Han Oppa. They have made it clear that they trust my judgment in dating an idol and that it will not conflict with my work as well as my connection with The Boyz. I have provide the appropriate contacts with Han Oppa to give to you incase anything were to happen."

"Yes. I did receive those from Han. I will use it as I see fit. I will admit, I had my people research you and I couldn't find anything about you online. Not even school records or family records. It's as if you don't exist. How is that possible?"

"All through the power of IST, formally Cre.Ker. They incrypted all of my information online to make sure only certain people, like me, have access to it. Incase a saesang were to spot me and try to leak my identity, no one could trace me back to Younghoon or find anymore information about me. I am very well protected under that company."

"Very interesting. They are very invested in you as a person."

"Well, I keep their number one group happy emotionally so they don't want any reason to lose that. They have been very grateful to me over the years."

"I can see that. Now, I have a few more questions for you. Does your family happen to know about you dating an idol?"

"With all due respect, sir, I am no longer affiliated with my family, except for one person, so they have no knowledge of what I am doing nor my relationship status. They would have no idea about me dating an idol."

"I see, but who is that one person?"

"My cousin is Choi Chihoon. He was formally under WakeOne Entertainment in their boy group, TO1, but he left the group as well as the company in April. He does know that I am dating Bang Chan and have met him."

"Interesting. Have you and Bang Chan discussed revealing your relationship to the public?"

"Yes. We wanted to wait till our second year together before revealing our relationship to the public with your permission, of course. Until then, we are content with keeping our relationship a secret as well as taking all the precautions to make sure we stay hidden when we go out."

"Good, good. And not to be redundant here, but are you okay with dating an idol? There's a lot of pressure in dating someone who will not be able to give as much time as you would like. This is much different than your friendship with Younghoon. You've been very privileged with how his company has treated your friendship with him. As much I would like to extend that support, I have to watch out for my artists and make sure they know what they're getting themselves into. "

"I understand the life of an idol much better than the average person. I know this is completely different than what I have with Younghoon. I have already had this kind of talk with Bang Chan long before we started dating. Idol life isn't for the feint of heart, nor is trying to date an idol, especially as someone who isn't an idol themselves. I understand that my life will differ greatly from Bang Chan's. There will be days that I want Bang Chan to be there, but due to his schedules and commitments, it won't be possible. But it's worth it for the days that I get to be with him, where our love means more than anything in the world. We are both making sacrifices by being in this relationship and I wouldn't change anything about it. I would never ask Bang Chan to choose me over his career and I know he would do the same. We are partners in this relationship and are willing to do anything to make it work."

JYP looks at me with a bright smile on his face. "I'm glad Bang Chan was able to find such an amazing woman like you. I can see how much love you have for him just by looking into your eyes. I am happy to support your relationship as much as I can. I do not have to worry much about how this relationship will affect him as well as his career. I wish you both the best and I hope to see you around the company, Ami. Don't be afraid to bring her here, Bang Chan. We can offer as much protection just like IST. Now, I have another meeting soon. Why don't you two enjoy the rest of your day?"

Bang Chan and I stand up as well as JYP. JYP offers a hand shake to both Bang Chan and I and we accept it with smiles on our face. JYP walks us out of our office and and we bit him a goodbye. Once we're out of his office, Bang Chan pulls me into a big hug. I hold onto him tight.

"That wasn't so bad, was it?" Bang Chan asks as we pull away from our hug.

"No, it wasn't," I reply with a small smile. "I'm glad it went well."

"Me too. Now, what does my baby girl want to do for the rest of the day?"

"Can I see your recording studio? I want to see where all the magic happens. And where you do 'Chan's Room'."

"Of course. Anything else?"

"I want to be Little."

"Anything your heart desires, baby girl."
