One of the members pulls me into the dorm and away from Bang Chan. I think it's Felix, but I haven't been able to memorize all of their names and faces. The one I think is Felix guides me to the couch and sits me down in the middle of it. He sits nexts to me and looks at me with a glowing smile. I can't help but smile back.
"Hi!" He greets me happily. "I'm not sure if you know who I am, but I'm Felix!"
"Hi Felix," I respond back shyly. "I'm Ami, but I guess you already know that."
"We're so excited to have you here at the dorm. You know, you could practically thank me for your's and Hyung's relationship because I was the one who introduced Hyung to the dating site you guys met on."
"Lixie, that's not a brag," one of the members says sitting on my other side. "Hi, I'm Seungmin and I'm going to be the most normal member you meet tonight."
"Hi Seungmin," I greet him. "It's nice to meet you."
"Hi Noona!" One of the members pops up in front of me. "I'm Jeongin!"
I move back a little because I didn't expect him to jump in front of my like that. "Hi Jeongin," I greet him shyly.
"Yah! Don't be so loud!" Another member yells, smacking Jeongin upside the head. "You'll scare her."
"You're yelling too!" Jeongin retorts.
"Yah! You two yelling isn't going to make her like you, you idiots," another member yells as he plops right next to Felix. Another memeber joins him by sitting on his lap. "I'm Minho, or Lee Know, and this is Jisung, or Han. The loud, short one is Changbin and the tall one in the corner is Hyunjin. Now, are we done with the introductions?"
I look at all of the members he pointed at so I can match the names with the faces. I did some research on the group after Bang Chan and I started dating, but I'm still a little fuzzy on them. I see Bang Chan out of the corner of my eye and I see him with an embarrassed smile on his face. I'm sure he wanted this first time of us meeting to go smoothly, but it's already a bit chaotic. But I know chaotic. My family is The Boyz after all.
"Well, I'm Ami, but you guys know that already," I reiterate with a smile. "I know Jeongin is already calling me it, but you can call me Noona if you want."
"Do The Boyz call you Noona too?" Jeongin asks sitting in front of my on the floor.
"Oh yeah. I'm older than all of them so they all call me Noona. Except for Younghoon. I told them they didn't have to call me Noona, but they insisted."
"Who are you the closest to in The Boyz?" Felix asks curiously.
"Well, Younghoon has been my best friend since we were little kids so we've known each other the longest. After Younghoon, you could say that I am close to all of them, but when it comes to who sticks to me the most, it would be the Maknaes, Sunwoo and Eric. They always cling to me whenever I come to their schedules. They always want my attention and they'll do just about anything to get it. They follow me around like little ducks. They're like my little babies."
"Aw... That's so cute!"
"Do you hang out with The Boyz often?" Seungmin asks curiously.
"As often as I can. It really depends on the day and the schedule. I was just with them to film Music Bank last week. I usually pose as part of their staff when I go to their schedules."
"Wait, did you just say you can pose as staff?" Jisung asks in confusion. "How do you do that?"
"Well, I have a personalized badge that I wear to all of their schedules. It says 'staff' on my badge. It's what gets me into their building as well as their dorm. Cre.Ker has put enough trust in me to let me have one. Their company usually has me do little things for my boys when I'm at their schedules."
"Wow. But how is it that you've never been photographed before?" Hyunjin asks sitting down next to Jeongin. "Sometimes staff gets caught in photos taken of us so if you're with them a lot, you should end up being in some of them."
"Cre.Ker is very protective of me. So any photos that even have a glimpse of me get taken down immediately. I am also never within filming range when any cameras come out. Younghoon made it clear to the company that my identity should not be exposed by any news outlets or fan sites. It's practically written into his contract."
"That's crazy," Changbin mutters.
"So you really don't know anything about Kpop?" Minho questions me. "You weren't intending on meeting Hyung on that website?"
"I really don't. I promise," I reply as earnestly as possible. "I've only really known about The Boyz. Going to the Road to Kingdom and Kingdom shoots have been my only exposure to Kpop. I never really cared to learn about Kpop besides what Younghoon and The Boyz have taught me. To be honest, I didn't really care to learn about any of the groups that were on those shows. I was there as moral support for my boys. Road to Kingdom was draining for them after Hyunjun had just left and they just wanted a distraction. Kingdom was worse as they were pushing themselves to the limit. Especially after Younghoon got injured, I didn't care about anything but that. Kpop has never been an interest I wanted to get into. I don't really care that Channie is an idol."
"So you really understand the danger you're putting yourself, and Chan Hyung, and us by you dating?"
"Of course I do. I put myself through that kind of danger just being friends with Younghoon. I didn't plan to stay so close to him after he became an idol, but he wanted to keep me by his side no matter what. How he managed to convince his company to take care of me and protect me so well is still a mystery to me, but he made sure that my safety and security was a priority as much as his is as an idol.
I totally understand that a girl frequently around male idols does not look good for an male idol's image. Even though we have the proof to back up that I am just Younghoon's best friend, it would not be easy to convince the hardcore fans that I am only around The Boyz platonically. And I know the stans do not respond well to their idols dating, I get that. I wouldn't want to risk Channie's or your guy's career. I already told that to Channie. I told him that his career comes first. I am not here to interfere with that."
"So you're prepared to deal with what happens when you guys could go public one day right?"
"Of course. I have prepared myself for being exposed as Younghoon's best friend so I have the same plan for being with Channie. Thankfully I don't have any trackable social media and I have Cre.Ker to back me up in case anything happens. They have given me their word that they would protect me no matter what. They've proven that themselves over the past 3 years."
"Good. I may trust my leader to make the right decisions here but that doesn't mean I trust you yet. As much as we want him to be happy, we still need to be guarded."
"I totally understand that. You're not the first group that has to deal with me coming into their lives. I understand that you don't have to trust me, you don't even have to like me. I am a threat to your career and I get that. As much as I like Channie, I am prepared to step away from this relationship if it means his career stays in tact. I am the same way with Younghoon and The Boyz."
"But that's not going to happen," Bang Chan cuts in. "I have made sure we go to safe spaces and wear the proper disguises so nobody recognizes us. It'll be some time before I tell our managers and the company about us since we just started dating, but I'm ready for whatever happens. This will not be a problem to our group."
Bang Chan gives me a reassuring smile and I smile back. I believe every word he says. I trust that he will do what's right for us and his group. We're not kids making these decisions. We're adults and we know how to handle things maturely. I just don't want things ti get out of hand too fast.
