CHAPTER 10

Seven years ago.

Lavienne was standing in front of the main building inside the university. She was wearing her nurse's uniform. Two months from now she will be graduating college and her schedule has been hectic since the last three months. She was running for Latin Honors. Summa cum laude to be exact.

Her grades never failed the President Lister's and she was proud that she was able to do it all in time.

"Sorry I'm late!" Nathaniel greeted her with a kiss. He was also in a hurry and the sweat on his forehead was evident. He smiled at her before letting go of his laughter.

"Okay ka pa ba? Mukha ka ng panda." He said pertaining to the dark spots below her eyes. She glared at him but she also laughed afterwards.

"Ang mahalaga hindi ako pangit." She countered, the man shook his head, his lady knew how to boast. After all, she got everything to be arrogant.

"Yeah," he shortly replied before getting her books and holding her hand. This has been their daily routine.

Lavienne would wait for him at the main building and they would go home together. They were legal on both sides and their families favored their relationship but they had to finish their studies first. Particularly Nathaniel.

He came from a poor family and he was studying at that university as a scholar, he was doing well in his studies and was also running for laude. Medical Technology was his pre medical course. He needed that to help his family to have a better life.

They've been together for almost half of their college life. They met each other at a party for all the students in the College of Allied Health and Medicine.

At first, they never really clicked with each other. They always fought against each other's principles in life but like what science said. . .

Opposite attracts.

Then one day they found themselves enjoying each other's company. They've become friends and eventually became lovers.

"Lav kakain ka ba muna?" He said looking at the fast food they always dine in. The lady shook her head but her stomach betrayed her.

The man laughed at her and she just rolled her eyes. She ate nothing for lunch and it's almost dinner.

"Okay, drive thru ko na lang." He stated and she just gave him a smile, she was worn out, she never expected that running for latin honors was that hard for her.

She grew up being always first in class and she never experienced any hardships achieving those but right now? She was physically and mentally exhausted.

She sneaked her phone and saw a text message from her best friend.

Maurice
Congrats Vien! I'm proud of you always, see you on your grad. <3

Maurice never failed messaging or calling her, everytime she achieved a new milestone in life-even the small details when she was in pain and all that matters.

"Thank you, Sir." The lady on the drive thru said before handing him the orders. He smiled and thanked her too before giving her the card.

"Here, eat up. Ubusin mo ha." He said giving her the paper bag. Lavienne looked at the paper bag and raised her eyebrow.

Nathaniel maneuvered the car. The woman was still staring at him.

"Bibitayin ba ako?" She said and he looked at her with dark eyes.

"Ayusin mo nga yang mga choices of words mo, hindi nakakatuwa, ubusin mo lang yung kaya mo." He said eyes focused on the road. She bit her lower lip before apologizing.
