CHAPTER 15

"We're going to the hospital after here to check on something," Kristoff stated when we entered the elevator. "Or do you want me to drop you home?" He added, we are here in his company to sign some contracts. As what he said.

"I'll go with you. I have unfinished business in the hospital." I answered, "about earlier. . ."

"Hmmm," he hummed, sniffing my hair, his arm resting leisurely on my waist. "It's okay, we're settled there."

"You okay?"

The elevator door opened on the second floor making me stop from answering his question. Five employees stepped back after seeing their C.E.O. inside.

"Good morning Sir." They all greeted each other simultaneously.

"Good morning, get in." Kristoff commanded after stepping backwards gently pulling me to the corner back of the elevator. We all fell silent and no one dared to talk but the deafening silence was cut by my phone.

"Sorry," I apologized before getting my phone inside my purse but my eyes narrowed after recognizing the unknown caller.

"Let me answer." He offered his hand.

I watched how his face turned livid, his eyes were fixated on the elevator door and his brows under the golden frame flattened. He reached for my waist using his left arm before answering.

"Don't even dare." I felt weak hearing him seriously talking to someone, each word he said embarked his authority.

I blinked several times and even gulped. Terrifying electricity travelled into my spine hearing his answer but the fears easily subsided when I felt my husband's arm pulled me closer to him.

I don't know when it started but every damn time I am inside his arms, I feel safe. It was like having a warm shower on a cold rainy day, a glass of coffee watching the raindrops and slow dancing to a sweet old music.

"Who's that?" I asked, of course I knew that was the one who texted me earlier. I just want a name.

"The one who texted you earlier. Don't mind it. I'm here." I only gave him a nod. He still doesn't want to disclose the information.

"Let's visit Logan first." Kristoff said and excused ourselves when the elevator door opened on the tenth floor. The employees inside bowed their heads when we left.

We were taking out time walking—well, he's matching my pace since I am having the time of my life scanning his company. He was guiding me on my waist and I could sense the stares of people we passed by.

"Logan!" Kristoff called his brother who was about to enter the elevator. The latter looked back and his smile widened after seeing us. He raised his eyebrow as he stride on our way.

"Yes, boss?" He said sarcastically.

"Give me the files." Kristoff said seriously, Logan calmly entered his office adjacent to us, we were just standing there, waiting for him.

"Eto na po, boss." Logan said after handing him the files.

"Thanks my secretary." Kristoff mimicked his brother's tone. Mukhang kailangan ko nang masanay na everyday talaga silang nagbabardagulan.
